Who is Daniel Dae Kim’s wife?
Daniel’s wife is Mia Kim (née Rhee). When the couple married, Mia was working as a graphic designer in Manhattan for a publisher of medical and science books. She graduated from Smith College.
Mia often accompanies Daniel to events, including the Tony Awards, TIME100 Gala, Oscars, and more. When asked about the secret to his long-lasting marriage, Daniel told People, “I have a very patient wife. That’s the secret.” Earlier in the year, Daniel gushed to E! News that Mia has “kept our family stable. She’s been fantastic.”
When did Daniel Dae Kim and his wife get married?
Daniel and Mia married on June 12, 1993, in Fairfield, Connecticut, per The New York Times. The couple said “I do” at the First Presbyterian Church in town.
Does Daniel Dae Kim have kids?
Daniel and his wife welcomed their first son, Zander, in 1996, followed by Jackson in 2002. The family’s home base in Hawaii, where they’ve lived since Daniel played Jin-Soo Kwon on Lost.

When his role on the show was coming to an end, he booked another Hawaii-based show, Hawaii Five-0. “My boys were growing up in Hawaii, and they loved it,” he told The New York Times. “My wife and I didn’t want to move them back to New York or L.A., after they had grown up in a very different lifestyle.”
The KPop Demon Hunters star has his own production company, 3AD, which was founded in 2013. Zander now works there alongside his dad. “I love working with my son,” Kim told People. “I think it’s a nice way for us to stay in touch because it’s not always easy when people have busy lives. My family is close and so it’s nice that we have one more point of connection.”
Daniel’s younger son, Jackson, graduated from New York University in 2024. He is currently represented by the State Management modeling agency.
