It’s Jenny Han‘s world, and we’re all just living in it.

Her domination of the romance genre truly began back in 2018, with the adaptations of her To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy. In fact, the first movie celebrated its seventh anniversary this past weekend, which got us reminiscing about Lara Jean and Peter’s (Lana Condor and Noah Centineo) epic love story. Who could ever forget Peter’s little pocket spin in the cafeteria? Or Lara Jean and Peter’s hot tub makeout scene set to “Lovers” by Anna of the North? To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before changed the game, and Netflix started rolling out romance movies in droves ever since. In our humble opinion, To All the Boys remains the cream of the crop.

Han further cemented her spot on our Rom-Com Royalty list with her next book-to-screen project, Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty. Over the course of three seasons, the show has become a cultural phenomenon, with its dramatic love triangle between Belly (Lola Tung) and brothers Conrad and Jeremiah (Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno). The show is currently in the middle of its final season, and the Team Conrad vs. Team Jeremiah debate has spurred endless online discourse.

Like To All the Boys, The Summer I Turned Pretty captures a nostalgia for first love and offers pure escapism for its viewers. But if you had to pick, which one of the two adaptations is best? (Oh, and we aren’t including Too All the BoysXO, Kitty spinoff in the debate since it doesn’t have a true book counterpart. But we love it!) Vote below and let us know what you think in the comments below.
