Miley Cyrus Makes Rare Comment About Mom Tish’s Third Husband Dominic Purcell
Nothing means more to the Cyrus women than family. Even though they’ve had some rough patches over the last several years, they’ve emerged stronger than ever. Miley Cyrus, along with sisters Brandi and Noah Cyrus, as well as mom Tish Cyrus, sat down for a rare joint interview and opened up about everything from relationships to music.
Miley and her sisters didn’t hold back on their mom when discussing what they’ve had to learn the hard way. The “Wrecking Ball” singer openly admitted to The Cut that her mom “always wanted me to stay with the wrong guy ’cause they’re hot.” (Miley was previously married to Liam Hemsworth.)
Tish was married to Miley and Noah’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, from 1993 to 2022. Billy Ray had a brief marriage to Firerose, a singer 27 years his junior, whom he met on the set of Hannah Montana. He is now dating actress Elizabeth Hurley. As for Tish, she married Prison Break star Dominic Purcell in 2023.
“I ended up with a person [drummer Maxx Morando] who means a lot to me and treats me really well and respects me,” Miley said. “I had to learn that the hard way because my mommy taught me the wrong way and then I had to learn the right way by myself.” However, Brandi noted that Tish has “evolved” and found her soulmate in Dominic.
The “Flowers” singer responded, “That’s because she found someone that is hot and respects her. That’s always the goal.”
When Tish and Dominic married in 2023, with Miley and Brandi serving as bridesmaids. Noah did not attend the wedding.
Noah and Dominic, who have a 30-year age gap, reportedly had a “friends with benefits” situation before he started dating her mom, according to People. “They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up,” a source told the outlet. Noah was apparently “offended” that Tish married the actor, but it appears they’ve worked out any tension over Tish’s marriage to Dominic.
