Naomi Osaka is back on the court for the 2025 US Open. The Japanese tennis star was ranked 23rd headed into the tournament and has made her way to the semifinals against America’s Amanda Anisimova.

Who is the father of Naomi Osaka’s baby?
The father of Osaka’s baby is rapper Cordae. The pair proudly welcomed their baby girl, Shai, in July 2023, and have kept the little one out of the spotlight.
“Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023,” Osaka wrote on X in January of that year, along with an ultrasound of her baby. She also added, “I realize that life is so short and I don’t take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘That’s my mom.'”

Osaka and Cordae were first linked after she posted a video of him on her Instagram Story in 2019. That summer, he confirmed the romance, telling Hot 97, “That’s my girl.” He also revealed that the two had already been together for a “long time” at that point, but were choosing to keep the relationship as private as possible.
They opened up about their romance to GQ in 2021, with the pro athlete telling the mag, “He’s a very rational person. So it’s not like we have crazy arguments. We’re both very opinionated and hardheaded. I would say I’m more hardheaded than him. But from my side, I can’t really stay mad at him for too long, so I start giggling a lot. I would say he sort of takes the initiative. Unless I know that I’m really wrong. Then I’ll apologize.”
Are Naomi Osaka and Cordae still together?
No, the tennis star and rapper have ended their relationship. They confirmed the news at the beginning of 2025.
“Hi everyone, just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer in a relationship,” Osaka wrote on her Instagram Story. “No bad blood at all, he’s a great person and an awesome dad. Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is the biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together.”
Months later, the two seem to be on amicable terms, as Cordae reposted Osaka’s social media post about her US Open win against Coco Gauff. He didn’t include any context or a congratulatory message, but the repost itself spoke volumes.
Is Naomi Osaka dating anyone now?
Since Osaka is notoriously private about her personal life, her current relationship status is unclear. However, she does not appear to be in a relationship at the moment, and has instead been focusing on her tennis career and raising her toddler.
