Nina Dobrev & Shaun White Reportedly Split Nearly 1 Year After Getting Engaged

Nina Dobrev and Shaun White have called it quits. The former couple, who had been together since 2019, has split, according to People.
The outlet reported the news on Thursday, September 11, just six days after Dobrev included White in a photo dump from the end of summer on Instagram.
“It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another,” a source told People. The news comes nearly a year after the pro snowboarder popped the question to Dobrev.
“RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé,” The Vampire Diaries star wrote on Instagram at the time, along with photos from the romantic proposal in New York City. White captioned his own post, “She said YES.”
The pair’s last public outing was on August 31, when they were photographed holding hands while running errands in Los Angeles. Dobrev posted her last photo of White on Instagram on September 5, then attended the Toronto Film Festival premiere of Eternity solo. She was also noticeably not wearing her engagement ring on the red carpet.
Plus, People pointed out that Dobrev no longer has her engagement post pinned to the top of her Instagram feed, where it reportedly had been since the proposal last year.
Although Dobrev and White first met in 2012, they didn’t become romantically involved until they reconnected at a Tony Robbins event, where they were both speakers, in 2019. They moved in together during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and had been going strong ever since.
Dobrev’s latest photo dump with White included photos from a recent vacation they took together. One shot showed them snuggling in bed, while another featured them spending time on a boat. “Summer doesn’t officially end until September 22nd FYI 🌞,” she captioned the post.
It’s unclear what happened between then and now to lead to this unexpected breakup.
