‘Bachelorette’ Star Emily Maynard Breaks Silence on 20-Year-Old Daughter Ricki’s Pregnancy
Two weeks after Ricki Hendrick, the daughter of The Bachelorette star Emily Maynard and the late Ricky Hendrick, announced she is pregnant with her first child, the 20-year-old’s mom is finally addressing her eldest child’s big news. On September 11, Hendrick shared a series a Instagram Stories featuring her mom, who weighed in about her daughter’s pregnancy.
Fans had been wondering about Maynard’s reaction to Hendrick’s pregnancy since she didn’t release a statement when the 20-year-old announced the news on August 26. (It’s worth noting that Hendrick’s grandfather, Hendrick Motorsports mogul Rick Hendrick, has not released a public statement yet.) Some believed that Maynard disapproved of her daughter having a child at such a young age because she hadn’t posted publicly. Well, now Maynard has made her feelings known.
Maynard responded via video on Hendrick’s Instagram Story to a fan inquiring about her “opinion on baby outside of marriage.” She stepped into the frame and sarcastically said, “Um, very against it. I cannot believe anybody would ever do that. Unforgivable.”
In a separate video, Hendrick mocked those who thought her mom wasn’t supporting her. “My mom is truthfully so devastated,” Hendrick said, sarcastically, as she showed off her mom’s purchases for her first grandbaby. “She’s so upset. She’s not excited at all for me to have a baby. She’s pissed, actually. She’s super angry. She can’t even look at me. She doesn’t support it at all.”
The 20-year-old added, “These are all things she got on her own and she is not done. This is all stuff at her house too, not even my own.” Hendrick has also changed her Instagram bio to say, “The first ever 20 year old to get pregnant.”
Hendrick, who is expecting a daughter, has not revealed the identity of her child’s father. However, she did set the record straight about her friend, Payton, who many had assumed was the baby’s dad. “NO HE IS NOT PLEASE STOP ASKING! He’s been one of my closest friends since 3rd grade, we have very different types.” Payton’s Instagram bio also reads, “I’m not the father.”
