‘Severance’ Star Adam Scott Makes Rare Comment About His Kids at the Emmys
On the Emmys red carpet, the Severance executive producer and Mark S. actor couldn’t help but discuss his favorite Severance viewers: his kids!
Parks and Recreation actor Adam Scott met his wife, Naomi Scott, in 1998 when they crossed paths at a bar on Sunset Boulevard. After getting married in 2005, the couple welcomed their son, Graham Scott, in 2006. In 2008, they welcomed their daughter Francesca “Frankie” Scott. Today, their kids are 16 and 18, respectively.
Heading into the Emmys ceremony along with his wife, Scott revealed that his Emmy-nominated performance in Severance marks the first time his teenage children have sat down to watch a show that he was on. He shared with E! News, “Finally, finally, I’m getting them to watch something I’m in.”
Of course, he did not want to speak for them, let alone share if they were Team Helly and Mark S. (Britt Lower) or Team Gemma and Mark Scout. However, he did proudly confirm, “I can’t count them as fans, but I can at least count them as viewers.”
According to the Severance star, his kids haven’t explored his comedic catalogue just yet. “They’ve never seen Parks and Rec, or Party Down, or anything else,” he admitted. “If the actor had it his way, his kids would watch his sitcom Parks and Rec next. He teased, “That’s the thing, like I swear you’ll [like it.] They’ve seen The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. They love all those shows.” Even so, he admitted, “They just haven’t watched my show because I’m in it.”
Scott is up against Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Noah Wyle (The Pitt), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses), and Sterling K. Brown (Paradise) for his nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. In another major moment on the carpet, Scott proved his TV drama heartthrob status as fans spotted him catching up with Pascal, his competitor and fellow TV hunk.
