Who Is ‘AGT’ Winner Richard Goodall’s Wife? His Marriages to Angie Vanoven & Patty Goodall
In 2024, Richard Goodall won over the hearts of millions as a contestant on Season 19 of America’s Got Talent. The singing school janitor went on to win the show and will be returning to the AGT stage during the Season 20 finale of the NBC reality competition on Wednesday, September 24.
Amid his run on the talent competition, Goodall also experienced some wins in his personal life, marrying his fiancée just days before he was named the show’s champion. Scroll down for everything we know about Goodall’s current marriage, as well as his past relationship.
Who is Richard Goodall’s wife?
Goodall’s wife is Angie Vanoven. The two tied the knot in September 2024, one day after Goodall gave his final performance on the show. He was named the winner just six days later.
“As of 3pm pacific time Angie and I are now Richard and Angela VanGoodall!” the singer announced on Facebook on September 18, 2024. He later added, “An amazing night day and night last night married to my love with my agt family attending and we got the pleasure of eating in Malibu on the beach at moonshadows! So blessed and eternally grateful.”
While Goodall and Vanoven still currently live in Indiana, he spoke about their plans to move “somewhere warmer” one day with help from his AGT winnings. “The future, it’s unwritten now, whereas a year ago, I was just the guy that took out the trash and wiped the tables and now possibilities are kind of endless,” he gushed.
What happened to Richard Goodall’s first wife?
Goodall’s first wife, Patty Goodall, died in 2021 from cancer. “When you’re married for so long and they pass away and you’ve got that void there, your biggest concern is figuring out who you are without them,” Goodall said in a 2024 interview. “And music was the bridge again.”
Patty was 74 years old at the time of her death, according to an obituary. “Patricia enjoyed sewing and traveling while on vacation,” the obit said. “She loved her dogs, more than anything she loved being with her kids and grandchildren.”
It is not known how long the Goodalls were married before Patty’s death.
Does Richard Goodall have kids?
While Goodall has affectionately spoken about the children at the school where he works, he has never publicly revealed whether he has children of his own. Patty’s obituary reveals that she was mom to four children, including a son, Robert Patton, who died. Her two daughters, Angela Vennard (Patton) and Alicia Dammann (Edward), do not share Goodall’s last name, but there is another son, Allen Goodall, listed.
