What Happened to ‘Big Brother’s Tucker Des Lauriers & Rubina Bernabe? Their Split Explained
The Big Brother fandom was shook when Season 26 couple Tucker Des Lauriers and Rubina Bernabe announced their split in May, less than one year after they met on the CBS show. The news came just one month after the exes filmed Season 38 of The Amazing Race (her partnered with sister Kristine Bernabe and him paired with brother Eric Des Lauriers).

What happened to Tucker Des Lauriers and Rubina Bernabe?
Des Lauriers and Bernabe confirmed their split in separate statements on their Instagram accounts. Although they didn’t reveal exactly what led to the breakup, they did give some insight into what happened.
“Tucker and I are no longer together,” she wrote. “Grateful to have met him & for the love we shared. Feeling grounded and focused on this next chapter of growth. We appreciate your support, your respect, and the space to move through this chapter privately. And a big thank you in advance for continuing to support me through every season.”
He said, “There has been a lot going on lately and I wanted to finally address things. Rubina and I are taking a break. It’s very sad but deep down we both know it is what’s best for both of us at this time. I’ve loved and appreciated all the support from each and everyone of you and hope I can still have with you all moving forward. I appreciate your understanding as I navigate this privately.”
The news was quite shocking, as Des Lauriers and Bernabe were just at Coachella together a few weeks prior, and they posted all about the weekend on social media.
In November 2024, they also told Us Weekly that things were “better than ever,” with Bernabe noting, “We actually like each other even more now [than on the show].”
How long did Tucker Des Lauriers and Rubina Bernabe date?
Season 26 of Big Brother began filming on July 17, 2024. Des Lauriers was evicted on Day 45, so the two got together at some point before the end of August 2024. They split in May 2025, so they were together for nine months before their breakup.
