Who Is L.A. Dodgers Pitcher Alex Vesia’s Wife? Inside His Marriage to Kayla Vesia
Just one day before the first game of the 2025 World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that Alex Vesia, a pitcher, had to “step away” from the team while dealing with a family matter.
“It’s with a heavy heart that we share that Alex Vesia is away from the team as he and his wife Kayla navigate a deeply personal family matter,” the organization’s statement said. “The entire Dodgers organization is sending our thoughts to the Vesia family, and we will provide an update at a later date.”

Who is Alex Vesia’s wife?
Alex’s wife is Kayla Vesia. She appears to be a content creator who posts behind-the-scenes videos from attending her husband’s baseball games on TikTok. Per LinkedIn, she has also worked part-time as a salon coordinator in San Diego, although it’s unclear if she still holds that position.
Kayla graduated from Minot State University, a public school in North Dakota, in 2019. She majored in marketing and played on the women’s soccer team. She also attended esthetician school in San Diego after college.
How did Alex Vesia meet his wife?
Kayla shared her and her now-husband’s origin story in a 2023 TikTok. It all started when he DMed her, “Hey you!” on January 1, 2019. From there, they started talking and had their first date at a dessert shop after she returned home from a trip to Mexico.

In April of that year, Alex asked Kayla to be his girlfriend. They spent the next year navigating a mostly long-distance relationship, with Kayla in California and Alex playing for the Miami Marlins’ minor league team and then in an Arizona fall league. In spring 2020, he returned home to California amid the COVID-19 pandemic and they quarantined together.
The pair moved in together in their first home in Arizona in November 2021. Alex proposed in November 2022, and they tied the knot on January 5, 2024.

In April 2025, Kayla announced that she was pregnant with the pair’s first child, a baby girl. “Baby Vesia coming soon, we are beyond excited for this next chapter!” Kayla captioned an Instagram post.

Kayla heavily documented her pregnancy over the next several months, including at Alex’s playoff baseball games. Just five days before the Dodgers’ announcement about Alex and Kayla’s “deeply personal family matter,” she was celebrated her husband’s advancement to the World Series on social media.
Kayla shared photos of the two celebrating on the field with her heavily pregnant stomach on full display. She has not posted any updates since.
