Are Chris Martin and Sophie Turner dating?
Turner and Martin have not addressed the relationship rumors themselves yet, but Daily Mail reported that the two recently went on a “secret date.” The reported rendezvous came after Turner and Pearson officially ended their on-again, off-again relationship in September.
The Game of Thrones actress is a longtime fan of Martin. In fact, Jonas even surprised her with a video from the Coldplay frontman for her birthday in 2020. “I’m not going to cry on camera,” she said in a clip from the moment she watched the footage.
Why did Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson split?
Martin and Johnson were incredibly private about their relationship throughout the time they were together. Just months before news of their split was confirmed in June, People reported that they’d been engaged for “years,” although the stars never publicly shared that news themselves.
The outlet said Martin and Johnson were dealing with the “same issues for a while” before they ended things.
According to The Sun, the pair’s 13-year age gap sometimes posed a problem in their romance. “They really tried to work through their issues, but the age gap was often a problem, and she’d expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life, but they discussed it,” a source told the outlet. Martin shares two adult children with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
What happened between Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas?
Turner and Jonas split in September 2023 after seven years together and four years of marriage. After he filed for divorce, they said in a joint statement, “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
However, it didn’t take long for things to turn contentious between the two, who are parents to daughters Willa and Delphine, born in 2020 and 2022, respectively. By the end of September 2023, Turner sued Jonas and asked that the girls be returned to her in England, claiming they were “wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained” by her ex. Her legal paperwork revealed that the split happened “suddenly” after an argument on August 15, and she alleged that she found out he was filing for divorce through the media.

Jonas responded with his own legal paperwork, clapping back at Turner’s claims that she was blindsided by his divorce filing. The singer also claimed he believed he and his ex were working toward an amicable coparenting arrangement.
By October 2023, the two reached a temporary custody agreement that laid out how Willa and Delphine would spend their time through the end of the year. “After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the U.K.,” they shared in a statement.
After the arrangement expired in 2024, Turner reactivated the divorce case, and the two reached a settlement in September 2024. They appear to now be on amicable terms, with Turner even congratulating her ex-husband on the release of his solo album via her Instagram Story earlier this year.
In a May 2024 interview with British Vogue, Turner addressed the online buzz that she and Jonas split because he didn’t like her “party girl” lifestyle. “It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother — mom guilt is so real!” she shared. “I just kept having to say to myself, ‘None of this is true. You are a good mum and you’ve never been a partier.'”
She also admitted that being a “Jonas Brothers wife” took a toll on her during her relationship with the singer. “There was a lot of attention on the three brothers and the wives,” she shared. “Well, we were always called the wives, and I hated that. It was kind of this plus-one feeling. And that’s nothing to do with him – in no way did he make me feel that – it was just that the perception of us was as the groupies in the band.”
One thing Turner and Jonas never publicly addressed was the report that he pulled the plug on their romance after witnessing something on a security camera at their home. Us Weekly previously reported that Jonas allegedly heard his then-wife saying things to a friend about him, which was allegedly the “final straw” in the relationship.
