If you thought you’d seen it all when it comes to Married at First Sight, you’d be wrong. Season 19, which is airing right now, is making history in more ways than one. Not only are a mother and daughter participating in the experiment at the same time, but the show also just dropped its first pregnancy reveal after much speculation.
Episode 10 featured the moment one couple discovered they were pregnant during the experiment. Thirteen babies have been born as a result of Married at First Sight matches, but no couple has ever announced they were expecting while filming was still going on.
The season preview teased the bombshell announcement. “We have a lot of sex,” a woman says. “Most of that’s unprotected.” Later, the woman reveals, “There’s something I need to tell you: I’m pregnant.”
So, who in the cast is the one speaking? The November 6 episode revealed the answer.
Who is pregnant in Married at First Sight Season 19?
In Episode 4, it was confirmed that all the couples had slept together. When the women met up during their honeymoons, Jalyn asked the group who had “gone there” with their husbands, and all of them answered affirmatively. (Brittany, Jalyn, and Meghann noted that they weren’t intimate with their husbands on their wedding nights.) During a conversation with the other wives, Rhonda, 63, asked the rest of the group if they’d broached the topic of kids with their husbands. So, who is pregnant?
Meghann
Meghann and Derrek are pregnant! At the end of Episode 9, she took two pregnancy tests that were both positive. “And we’re pregnant,” Meghann said, before adding, “We were not trying… to make that completely known.”
Peacock
Derrek was by her side as she revealed the news. “We’ve got a lot to talk about now. This changes pretty much everything for us,” he said. Meghann admitted that they were “shocked, scared, and happy all at once.”
Meghann’s husband added, “This is gonna make me grind and work hard and do what I can to support you, and I’m committing to doing whatever I can to make you comfortable and happy and feeling good during this whole process.”
In a preview of upcoming episodes, Derrek said he’s in “full-on dad mode now.” However, doubts are settling in. “There’s more reason for us to stay together, like, given the pregnancy,” Derrek said. Meghann later admitted, “Just because we’re pregnant doesn’t mean we have to be together.”
Ahead of her wedding to Derrek, a member of Meghann’s family asked her about kids. “If I do, I want one boy,” the 37-year-old said, before adding, “Motherhood would be surreal.” Later, Derrek said he wanted more than one kid. Prior to Married at First Sight, Meghann froze her eggs. “I would want to have kids with the right person,” she said.
Season 19 had teased the possibility that Brittany, Jalyn, or even Belynda could be pregnant with various conversations. Brittany recalled a conversation that she and Will had while they were getting intimate in Episode 3. “I think we both had a moment of like, ‘Oh crap, did we take all the necessary precautions that we were supposed to?’ which kind of worried me a little bit,” she said.
In response to Rhonda’s question to the group about kids, Jalyn replied, “We both agreed we’re not necessarily trying to do that right now.” Belynda — Jalyn’s mom — laughed off the idea of expanding her family with Chad. “Chad and I have decided we’re not going to have any more kids,” the 47-year-old laughed. “Just in case.”
Naturally, we had to investigate the cast’s Instagram accounts. Unsurprisingly, there still isn’t any sign of a baby Meghann and Derrek’s profiles, likely to avoid spoilers.
