‘DWTS’: Sasha Farber Has Surprising Reaction to Ex Emma Slater & Alan Bersten’s Romance

It’s been three years since Emma Slater and Sasha Farber separated, but they’ve remained in close quarters since they’ve both continued to work on Dancing With the Stars. Earlier this year, Slater hard-launched her relationship with another DWTS pro, Alan Bersten.
Since the two have gone public with their romance, they were both cast on Season 34 of the dance competition show, while Farber was not. So, how does he feel about his ex moving on in such close quarters?
“[It’s] definitely not awkward,” Farber confirmed during a recent TikTok Live. “I’m really happy for [Emma] and Alan. I wish them nothing but the best. That’s all I can say.”

Slater and Farber first dated from 2011 to 2014 before breaking up. They reconciled the following year and tied the knot in 2018. However, by August 2022, they had separated. Slater filed for divorce in February 2023, and it was finalized in May 2024. Farber looked back on their time together with nothing but fondness.
“Things don’t always work out in life, and there’s no point to ever have any hate towards anyone because what’s the point?” he continued. “So you thank each other for your incredible time you had together. Because the time we did have wasn’t bad. It was amazing. And you move on, and you wish the other person nothing but the best. There’s no point of hate because it would only eat you up inside. We don’t need that in life.”
Slater and Farber have both previously confirmed that they’ve remained amicable since the split. While appearing on The Viall Files podcast in August 2023, Slater admitted the main reason for their split was their different timelines for wanting kids.
“It’s interesting because I do want to have kids, I just don’t want to delay Sasha’s path in having kids because I know that he is ready for that,” Slater shared. “I don’t want to talk about him too much because that’s really for him to say. But it’s about kids.”
She added that she was “figuring that out for [herself]” and didn’t want to take it “lightly” by entering into something before she was ready. “We’re still like family, so it isn’t really like the love is not there,” she confirmed. “It’s actually not that at all. We’re just at potentially two different places. But the hard part was that the love actually didn’t go [away].”
