‘Kardashians’: Kourtney Makes Rare Comments About Coparenting With Scott Disick & Being a Stepmom

It’s been a decade since Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick ended their relationship, but they’ve remained in each other’s lives because they have three children together. In the years following their 2015 split, Kourtney and Scott tried to maintain a friendship at first, spending time together and even going on vacations together with the kids. However, since Kourtney began her relationship with Travis Barker in 2020, she’s distanced herself from her ex.
Of course, they’ve still had to coparent Mason, 15, Penelope, 13, and Reign, 10, but they’ve kept the specifics of their situation private in recent years. On the Thursday, October 30, episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney opened up about the state of their coparenting relationship today.
“I think with coparenting, it’s always trying to be cordial and do our best to be on the same page,” Kourtney said. “It’s not easy.”
The conversation came up while Kourtney was working with Julia Fox o
n a campaign for her brand Lemme, and Julia noted that she wants another child but doesn’t have a partner at the moment. “Wait until the right situation because I feel like … I think of it all the time, like, having the parents together is such a dream,” Kourtney said. “I think about it all the time. But it’s OK.”
When Julia said, “But you’ve been able to coparent really well. The kids seem so happy.” Kourtney confirmed, “Yeah. People do it.”

The episode also featured Kourtney getting in some major bonding time with stepdaughter Alabama Barker. The reality star helped Alabama film a promo for her Twitch stream and opened up about what it’s like being a stepmom.
“Alabama and I are super close,” Kourtney said. “I’ve known her since she was 8 years old. I love being there for her to support her. I love that she asked me, that she thinks I’m cool enough to be in her video.”
When Kourtney married Travis in 2022, she officially became a stepmother to Alabama and her brother, Landon Barker, as well as Travis’ stepdaughter, Atiana De La Hoya, whom he’s remained a father figure to since his divorce from her mom, Shanna Moakler.
“With the older kids, I try to be there for them as a friend, and I try to be there in a motherly way as much or as little as they are wanting,” Kourtney continued. “I don’t want to be, like, overbearing, but I love being there for them to give them advice when they ask me, or spend time with them when they want to, just in any way that I can.”
