Which ‘Bridgerton’ Couple Had the Hottest ‘First’ Sex Scene So Far? (POLL)
Bridgerton may be a period drama, but it’s about as far from stuffy as you can get. True to author Julia Quinn’s source material, the Netflix show does not skimp on the sex scenes. The romances may burn slowly for a hot minute — we’re looking at you, Kate and Anthony — but you can trust that the tension will always break. First in a kiss, and eventually in an explicit moment of passion. But which one, dearest gentle reader, is the hottest of them all?
For the sake of time, we’ll focus only on the main franchise — sorry, Queen Charlotte — and only each couple’s first time. Season 1 set the bar with Episode 5’s wedding night between Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page). Sure, they’re the only couple to wait until they were official before going all the way, but the buildup was so good. After mistakenly assuming that they had trapped each other in marriage, Simon and Daphne finally communicate their love for each other. Right after we get the iconic “I burn for you” moment, they sleep together for the first time. The scene leans more sweet than hot, but that doesn’t make it any less satisfying.
On the other hand, Season 2’s gazebo sex scene is anything but sweet. Emotional and passionate, yes, but Kate (Simone Ashley) and Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) had been wound up tight for the past seven episodes, starting as enemies before realizing their attraction to each other. They cross the line for the first time before they tie the knot — in public, no less. In a dreamy garden setup, Anthony focuses on giving Kate pleasure before getting on top. It’s so hot that Kate can’t help but daydream about it the next morning. (Same, Kate.)
And who could forget Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin’s (Luke Newton) carriage scene, which was the culmination of two full seasons of slow burn? They didn’t go all the way, but that moment set the state for their first time in Episode 5 of Season 3. Penelope and Colin made us blush with their steamy first time on a chaise lounge. And the mirror moment? So unbelievably hot.
We’ll have to wait and see how Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie (Yerin Ha) fair next to the other couples, but we have high hopes. In the meantime, tell us which steamy love scene is your favorite in the poll below!
