[Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers from Married at First Sight Season 19 Episodes 1-14.]
Married at First Sight has revealed the fates of its Season 19 couples. Derrek Wiedeman and Meghann Turner were two of 10 singles who were matched by experts and said “I do” as strangers. After going on their honeymoon, Derrek and Meghann began living together as husband and wife. At the end of the eight-week experiment, they had to choose to stay married or to split, weighing all the ups and downs.
In Derrek and Meghann’s case, the decision was a bit more complicated: They found out they were pregnant during filming. A few episodes later, they both said “yes” on Decision Day. A year and a half passed between Episode 13 and the reunion, so what did the couple share about their relationship status now? Get all the latest updates on Derrek and Meghann below.
Are Married at First Sight’s Meghann and Derrek still together?
Once Decision Day passed, Meghann and Derrek split after Meghann had a miscarriage. “It was extremely hard, seeing what Meghann had to go through, what we had to go through,” Derrek said at the reunion. “It was really, really terrible.” He added that they started to clash after that. During a fight, Derrek said he didn’t love his wife anymore. He broke up with Meghann on the phone and moved out a week later. They hadn’t seen each other since then.

What’s happened between Meghann and Derrek during filming?
In the batch of episodes before Decision Day, Meghann and Derrek prepared for parenthood, babysat a friend’s kids, and set up Meghann’s house for the baby. Derrek told his wife that they had more reason to stay together because of their situation, but Meghann insisted that they could still coparent if they weren’t married.
“I love Derrek, but just because we’re pregnant, doesn’t mean we have to be together,” Meghann said in a confessional afterward. “It’s not like I’m thinking about saying no, but the independent side of me is like, we do have a choice.”
Before that, Episode 10’s couples’ retreat went smoothly for Meghann and Derrek, though they had plenty of drama in the previous episodes. In Episode 8, Meghann said “I love you” to Derrek, but he didn’t immediately return the sentiment, which ruffled her feathers. The tension went away when he said it in Episode 9.
After the newlyweds moved in together in Episode 6, the first hiccup revolved around Meghann’s dog. Derrek and his wife debated whether he should take the dog on walks alone and whether she should be allowed to sleep on the bed. Derrek thought he had compromised on many things since they started living together, and Meghann thought he was implying that she hadn’t, and she left the room feeling “ambushed.”
A more significant issue came up later on: family planning. Though both were more or less on the same page about having kids, Derrek said that he felt the topic was difficult to bring up to his wife, leading to their most heated discussion yet. They left things on a bad note at the end of Episode 7. “Last night really f**king hurt me,” Meghann told her husband. “You feel like I don’t want children, and then you decided to gaslight the s**t out of me.”
Meghann was referring to a moment earlier in the episode. When Derrek met up with his friend, the topic of starting a family with Meghann came up in their conversation. Derrek later spoke about it with Meghann, asking his wife if having kids was something she was looking forward to. “Yeah, it’s something that excites me but scares me at the same time,” she said. “It kind of irks my chain because we’ve already talked about it.”
She continued, “I know I’m getting irritated, and I’m trying not to get irritated. But if you really know me, then you know how much I want to be a parent.”
Meghann acknowledged she was getting heated, and Derrek said, “When you get this defensive about it, that’s one of the reasons why I get concerned.” He explained that his hesitation to bring the topic up stemmed from fear of Meghann’s reaction.
And that brings us back to Meghann and Derrek’s closed-door exchange in Episode 7. “You get set off, and it blows up into this thing, and you storm out. That’s not fair to me,” Derrek said. Meghann said he needed to take accountability for his actions, but she didn’t elaborate on what he did wrong. After a heart-to-heart later on, the couple’s argument seemed to be resolved as of Episode 8.
