‘Married at First Sight’ Season 19: Are Derrek & Meghann Still Together?

While Married at First Sight couple Will and Brittany had the most explosive argument when Season 19 premiered, that honor went to Derrek Wiedeman and Meghann Turner when the second batch of episodes dropped.
After the newlyweds moved in together in Episode 6, the first hiccup revolved around Meghann’s dog. Derrek and his wife debated whether he should take the dog on walks alone and whether she should be allowed to sleep on the bed. Derrek thought he had compromised on many things since they started living together, and Meghann thought he was implying that she hadn’t, and she left the room feeling “ambushed.”
A more significant issue came up later on: family planning. Though both were more or less on the same page about having kids, Derrek said that he felt the topic was difficult to bring up to his wife, leading to their most heated discussion yet. So, where do they stand after the latest episode’s cliffhanger? We’re breaking down exactly what happened in Episode 7 and Meghann and Derrek’s relationship status below.
Are Married at First Sight’s Derrek and Meghann still together?
TLDR: Derek and Meghann haven’t called it quits at this point in the show, but they left things on a bad note at the end of Episode 7. “Last night really f**king hurt me,” Meghann told her husband, who asked for clarification. “That you feel like I don’t want children and then you decided to gaslight the s**t out of me.”
Meghann was referring to a moment earlier in the episode. When Derrek went to meet up with his friend, the matter of him and Meghann starting a family came up in their conversation. Derrek later brought it up, asking his wife if having kids was something she was looking forward to. “Yeah, it’s something that excites me but scares me at the same time,” she said. “It kind of irks my chain because we’ve already talked about it.”
She continued, “I know I’m getting irritated, and I’m trying not to get irritated. But if you really know me, then you know how much I want to be a parent.”
Meghann acknowledged she was getting heated, and Derrek said, “When you get this defensive about it, that’s one of the reasons why I get concerned.” He explained that his hesitation to bring the topic up stemmed from fear of Meghann’s reaction.
And that bring us back to Meghann and Derrek’s closed-door exchange. “You get set off, and it blows up into this thing and you storm out. That’s not fair to me,” Derrek said. Meghann said he needed to take accountability, but she didn’t elaborate on what he did wrong when he asked.
The couple didn’t appear much in the preview for the next batch of episodes. We still don’t know what Derrek and Meghann stayed married on Decision Day, but we took our search to social media for clues. It looks like the couple no longer follows each other on Instagram. Not only that, but when Meghann posted a behind-the-scenes group shot of the cast on Instagram, she didn’t tag Derrek.
Is Meghann pregnant?
Other than the questions surrounding which couples stay married or split, the biggest mystery of Season 19 centers around a pregnancy. The trailer teased that one of the cast members finds out she’s pregnant at some point during the Married at First Sight experiment.
Meghann and Derrek have already started discussing kids. The couple’s been intimate in the bedroom, so it’s certainly still a possibility that Meghann could be the one who’s pregnant. Meghann previously shared that she froze her eggs before signing on for Married at First Sight. “I would want to have kids with the right person,” she told the MAFS experts.
