What To Know

- Liam is currently back together with Hope, the other third of the B&B love triangle.
When it comes to his Bold and the Beautiful costars, Scott Clifton is always going to have their backs. The Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), Liam (Clifton), and Hope (Annika Noelle) love triangle has ignited fierce debates over the years, with fans always chiming in over Team Steffy vs. Team Hope.
A fan on X, formerly Twitter, claimed that B&B executive producer Brad Bell “wanted to put Steam [Steffy and Liam] back together but JMW [Jacqueline MacInnes Wood] is against that ship.” Another viewer responded, “JMW is a drama queen if she thinks she should be able to determine her story line… show up and read your lines…please.”
Clifton took the time to respond to the fans criticizing Wood, and he opened up about the future of Steffy and Liam. “Jacqui is a consummate professional and a dream coworker. Two things are true at once: she has expressed the (very reasonable) personal/creative opinion that ‘Steam’ has run its course; yet if Mr. Bell wrote Liam and Steffy getting back together again, she would give it 110%,” the actor wrote.

Fans immediately responded to Clifton’s remarks, and many agreed with Wood’s sentiments about the Steffy and Liam storyline. “Completely understand her personal preference. I just wish you guys (you and Jacqui) had more scenes together, and it doesn’t have to be romantic,” one fan said. “There’s a reason the two of you have 3 Emmys each. You two are the show’s home run hitters and when together, lights out!”
Another fan added, “Scott well said. Jacqueline is very professional as you are as well. I agree she would give her all if Bell decided to do the love triangle again. You both will provide the best acting. For me though I didn’t mind the love triangle as Liam has love for both ladies.”
Swooon recently asked Clifton on the Daytime Emmys red carpet about whether Liam’s greatest love is Steffy or Hope — and he had quite the answer!
“Every time that I try to answer that question, either in an interview or for myself, I recall a conversation I had with Mr. [Brad] Bell [B&B’s executive producer/head writer]. I asked him, ‘Is the endgame Hope or Steffy?’ He smiled and said, ‘There is no endgame! It goes on and on forever.’ So, that’s what we do!” Clifton said. “If you think about characters as magnetic poles, you’re going to have characters, like Ridge [Thorsten Kaye] and Brooke [Katherine Kelly Lang], who always get pulled back together.”
He added, “But that doesn’t mean that those characters can’t find happiness or be in healthy relationships with other people, other characters.”
