Yes, Lagasse and Lovelace are still together. In November 2024, he sent public love to his wife on her birthday, writing on Instagram, “Join me in wishing my beautiful wife a very Happy Birthday! Cheers to you, Alden. 🥂.”
A month prior, she also posted a birthday tribute for the chef. “Happy Birthday to this handsome fella! I love you sweetheart! Cheers to many, many more!❤️🥂❤️🥂,” Lovelace gushed.

Yes, Lagasse is a father to four children. With Lovelace, he has a son, E.J., born in March 2003, and a daughter, Meril, born in December 2004. He also shares daughters Jessica and Jillian, born in 1979 and 1981, respectively, with ex-wife Elizabeth Kief. Emeril was just 19 years old when he became a father for the first time.
When Lagasse and Kief divorced, she moved away from New Orleans to the East Coast with the girls, so Lagasse had a “long-distance relationship” with his older two kids when they were growing up. Jessica and Jillian have followed in their father’s footsteps by creating cookbooks together, while Jillian has also worked as a massage therapist and aesthetician. Both women are married. Jessica has two children, and Jillian has one.
E.J. has followed directly in his father’s culinary footsteps. He’s been working in restaurants since he was a teenager and attended culinary school at Johnson & Wales University, the same place his dad studied. E.J. is now the head chef at his father’s New Orleans restaurant. Meril, meanwhile, is a student at the University of Mississippi.

Lagasse has had three wives, including Lovelace. His first wife was Kief, whom he met while working at the Venus De Milo restaurant in Massachusetts. They tied the knot in 1978 and divorced in 1986.
After the split, he married fashion designer Tari Hohn in 1989, and they divorced seven years later. His wedding to Lovelace took place four years after the divorce from Hohn.
Who is Emeril Lagasse’s wife?
Lovelace was a real estate broker when she met Lagasse. Now, she works for the Emeril Lagasse Foundation, which she cofounded with her husband in 2002. The foundation, based in New Orleans, is a public charity with the goal to “create opportunities to inspire, mentor and enable youth to reach their full potential.”
