Vince Gill is being celebrated as one of country music’s greats at the 2025 CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 19. He’ll be receiving the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony. Other recent recipients include Alan Jackson, George Strait, and Loretta Lynn.
The musician has had an illustrious country music career, but has also had some memorable personal milestones over the years. Of course, that includes his wedding to Christian singer Amy Grant in 2000.

Are Vince Gill and Amy Grant still married?
Yes, Gill and Grant are going strong after 25 years of marriage. Ahead of the CMA Awards, they made a red carpet appearance together at Opry 100: A Live Celebration.
In March, Gill’s official Facebook page posted an anniversary tribute to the couple. “Wishing Vince and Amy Grant a very Happy 25th Anniversary!” the post said, along with a photo from their wedding day.
How did Vince Gill and Amy Grant meet?
Gill and Grant were both married to other people when they met in 1993. He had tied the knot with Janis Oliver in 1980, while she wed Gary Chapman in 1982.
Their first meeting came when she performed at his holiday event, Christmas With Vince Gill, in Oklahoma. “I was doing a benefit for the symphony in Nashville. And he was doing a TV show for a Christmas show with Chet Atkins,” Grant recalled in a 2003 interview with Larry King. “His management called mine and said, ‘Would she be on the TV show?’ And I said, ‘Hey, I’ll do that TV show with him if he’ll do the benefit with me.’ And that was the connection of our friendship for years was doing these Christmas shows.”
Grant revealed that the two had actually crossed paths “many times” before they actually go on stage together. “We sang for the troops during Desert Storm at Fort Campbell [in Tennessee],” she shared. “And I just thought he was a nice guy. And then we worked together Christmas of ’93 and actually performed together. I was just captivated with his personality. I just thought he was a great guy.”
In 1994, Grant was featured on the song “House of Love” from Gill’s album of the same name.
It took years for things to actually turn romantic, though. Gill and Oliver divorced in 1997, while Grant and Chapman officially split in 1999 after separating the previous year. By October 1999, Grant confirmed she and Gill were in a relationship.
The couple has insisted that they did not get divorced from their first partners to pursue a relationship. “A lot of disparaging things were said about my very public friendship with Vince,” Grant said. “One of the reasons that the friendship was so public was because it never occurred to me to hide it.”
In a 2024 interview with People, she reiterated, “It was not anything that we orchestrated. It was like life orchestrated that we kept crossing paths.”
Gill added, “What was painful was most people assumed the worst of us, and it was not fair, and it was incorrect. You couldn’t go back and undo what people said, and what people thought. … Sadly, it’s human nature in a way to assume the worst. It couldn’t have been further from the truth.”
Do Vince Gill and Amy Grant have kids?
Yes, Gill and Grant are parents to a daughter, Corrina, who was born on March 12, 2001, just over a year after their wedding. Corrina is now pursuing her own music career.
