[Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers from Prime Video’s Tell Me Softly.]
On the heels of her successful Culpables movie adaptations, Spanish author Mercedes Ron is moving full steam ahead with Dímelo Bajito — or Tell Me Softly in English — on Prime Video. The first of three romance books about Kami’s (Alicia Falcó) love triangle with the Di Bianco brothers (Fernando Lindez and Diego Vidales), Tell Me Softly left viewers on a major cliffhanger.
Though the high schooler didn’t choose the resentful Thiago (Lindez) or protective Taylor (Vidales) in the end, you don’t have to worry about never getting closure. Kami’s emotional journey will continue in an adaptation of Ron’s sequel book, Dímelo en Secreto. Per Deadline, the second film was announced in October 2025, months ahead of the first movie’s premiere. Swooon is breaking down everything we know about Tell Me Softly 2, including its release date, below.
When does Tell Me Softly 2 come out?
There’s no release date yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t do some estimating. During the Ibiza retreat Prime Video used to announce the sequel, attendees also learned that production was supposed to begin “soon.” If it did start in October 2025, it’s possible that the sequel would release this time next year. IMDb says the first movie was shot from October to December 2024, and it came out almost exactly a year after wrapping.
Who is in the Tell Me Softly 2 cast?
The first movie’s trio — Falcó, Lindez, and Vidales — will return to play out the central love triangle, though the rest of the cast has yet to be officially confirmed by Prime Video. Lindez, it’s worth mentioning, has another romance book-to-movie adaptation in the wings: Anna Todd’s The Last Sunrise. Since filming wrapped in September 2025, it’s possible viewers may get to see the actor’s turn in The Last Sunrise before the Tell Me Softly sequel.
How does Tell Me Softly end?
Kami doesn’t pick a brother in Tell Me Softly, as we mentioned before. In the final scenes of the film, viewers find out why Thiago resents Kami so much: He blames her for the car accident that killed his sister. Flashbacks reveal that Kami and Thiago discovered that Thiago’s dad was having an affair. Thiago asked Kami not to say anything, but she told her parents anyway. Thiago’s mom, erratic upon learning the news, packed up her kids and took off. In the rain, she didn’t see a deer in the middle of the road, and she swerved the car off a bridge. Her daughter didn’t make it out of the car, drowning in the lake.
When the movie returns to the present day, it’s the anniversary of the accident. Kami and Thiago cross paths, and she confronts him about how unfair he’s being in holding her responsible. One thing leads to another, and they confess that they loved each other as children. Kami even says that “it’s always been [him],” but their steamy makeout session comes to a stop when she hesitates. Thiago asks if she still loves Taylor, which she doesn’t confirm or deny. She does say that she’s a mess at the moment, making it impossible to choose.
Kami gets back on her bike to head home, while Thiago drives home. Taylor, emotional having just visited his sister’s bedroom, notices Kami arriving home almost at the same time as his brother. He stares at Thiago as the latter brushes past him, his expression hard.
What is Tell Me Softly 2 about?
The book, Tell Me in Secret, won’t be published in English until January 2026, but we do have its description. Kami’s two best friends, Thiago and Taylor, are back in her life, but she has deeper feelings than friendship for both of them. At the same time, “her life is falling apart, her family is disintegrating, and her friends are turning their backs on her,” so she relies on both of them for support. Taylor is falling for her all the while, but when Thiago kisses someone, it devastates Kami.
