Eric Adjepong made his Food Network debut in 2018 on the 16th season of Top Chef, finishing in third place. He then returned to the show for Season 17, an all-star season, where he came in 9th place. Since then, he has competed on various Food Network shows and is also the host of Alex vs America and Wildcard Kitchen.

Ever since Adjepong became a public figure, Janell Mack, has been in his life. The two married in 2016. But are they still together now? Scroll down for everything we know.

Is Eric Adjepong still married?

No, Adjepong and Mack are no longer married. They separated in October 2021, and she filed for divorce in January 2022. The divorce was finalized in August 2024, but turned contentious.

Adjepong claimed that his former wife “constructively abandoned and deserted [him] in that her cruel and vicious conduct made the continuation of the marital relationship and [Adjepong] remaining in the marital home impossible if [Adjepong] was to preserve his health, safety, and self-respect,” per The U.S. Sun.

They eventually reached a divorce settlement, but five months later, Mack was granted a protective order against her ex-husband in January 2025. She claimed he attempted to FaceTime her one day after the protective order was issued.

The following month, the two reached an agreement to drop the protective order as long as Adjepong did not “attempt to contact or harass [Mack] by any means, including but not limited to harassment in person, by telephone, in writing, or by any other means.”

Adjepong was hit with an arrest warrant when he failed to show up to a March 2025 hearing in the case, but the warrant was rescinded after it was confirmed that his address was incorrect and he was never actually served the paperwork.

The former couple met after Mack moved to New York from Washington D.C. and she spotted Adjepong at a house party. “I thought he was handsome, and we were introduced – but Eric doesn’t remember meeting me,” she shared in 2017. “A few days later while Eric was looking for the photographer from the party, he spotted my Facebook profile while scrolling on the friends’ list of the friend who the party was for. He took his shot and decided to send me a message on Facebook. We were a few days into the conversation on Facebook before I decided to check his profile and realized he was the guy from the party!”

Does Eric Adjepong have kids?

Yes, Adjepong and Mack have one daughter, Lennox, born in 2018. When Mack filed for divorce, she requested sole physical custody and asked that Adjepong have liberal visitation and access. In his response, he asked for joint physical and legal custody.

“The minor child has been in the primary physical care and custody of both parties since birth but primarily residing with [Mack] since the parties separated,” Mack claimed in her divorce paperwork. “[Mack] currently bears all the responsibility for the daily needs of the minor child physically, emotionally, and financially.”

In the August 2024 divorce settlement, Adjepong was ordered to pay Mack $804/month in child support.

Is Eric Adjepong dating anyone?

No, Adjepong confirmed to TV Insider in January 2026 that he’s currently single.

“I’ve met some really kind, genuine people this past year, but right now I’m married to my restaurant, Elmina,” he said. “I’d love companionship — a friend first. Someone who loves to eat, shares similar values, and keeps things simple.”

Are Eric Adjepong and Alex Guarnaschelli friends?

Yes, Adjepong and Alex Guarnaschelli are not only colleagues, but they’re also good friends. In fact, she even tried to play matchmaker for him following his divorce.

In September 2025, Guarnaschelli shared a text exchange with Adjepong on social media where he sent her a message to check in on her. “How can this man be single?” she captioned the post. “Should I help my friend find a girlfriend????” The comments section of the post immediately blew up with messages from potential candidates.

“She’s adorably diabolical,” Adjepong told TV Insider. “I was working an event in Houston, spoke to her briefly, put my phone away, and when I checked it again, it had turned into one of the biggest viral moments of my life. I thought it was hilarious — and honestly, extremely flattering.”

At the time of the viral social media post, Adjepong noted that he was “so ready for love.”
