Ahead of Season 3 of Tell Me Lies, fans are already dying to know if Stephen (Jackson White), Lucy (Grace Van Patten), and the rest of the Baird College gang will return to our screens for a fourth season.
Tell Me Lies follows a college friend group bound together by messy hookups, dark secrets, and twisted betrayals. Flipping back and forth between their reunion at Bree (Cat Missal) and Evan’s (Branden Cook) wedding, and their college days, the story centers around Stephen and Lucy’s toxic on-again/off-again relationship. While Season 2 left off with everyone’s least favorite couple back together, who knows where they’ll be by the end of the third season?
The show is based on Carola Lovering’s book of the same name. As of Season 2, the show has mostly explored storylines outside the novel.

Has Tell Me Lies been renewed for Season 4?
Right now, Tell Me Lies Season 4 has not been announced. In an August 2025 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Tom Ellis, who’s married to creator Meaghan Oppenheimer and portrays Oliver in the series, explained that (at the time) Season 3 was set to be the last. He told the outlet, “I think so, yeah. I think Meaghan [Oppenheimer] has written it to be the last season. For sure, yeah.”

While that’s definitely some grim news for Season 4 hopefuls, Ellis revealed this news in August 2025, before production had ended for the third season. At the time, Hulu lists Episode 8 as the Season 3 finale, not the series finale. We’ll have to wait until Oppenheimer or Hulu makes an official announcement to find out whether Season 4 is on the horizon.
When would Season 4 of Tell Me Lies premiere?
Generally, Tell Me Lies comes out during the fall or winter, about a year after the previous season concluded. For example, Season 2 premiered in September 2024, and Season 3 premiered in January 2026. For that reason, we’d expect to see Tell Me Lies Season 4 premiere in early 2027, if the show is picked up for another season. Bree and Evan sure know how to throw a long wedding!

Who has been cast in Season 4 of Tell Me Lies?
At this time, no one has been cast in Season 4 of Tell Me Lies. However, if the show is renewed, fans can expect to see main cast members Grace Van Patten (Lucy), Jackson White (Stephen), Cat Missal (Bree), Branden Cook (Evan), Sonia Mena (Pippa), Spencer House (Wrigley), and Alicia Crowder (Diana) return — barring some huge twist in Season 3. Seeing as minor characters like Thomas Doherty‘s Leo seem to come and go, we’ll have to wait until an official cast announcement to see if newcomers Costa D’Angelo (Alex) and Iris Apatow (Amanda) are here to stay.
