Ben Napier and Erin Napier have been staples on HGTV since Home Town premiered in 2016. The show is currently airing its 10th season, featuring the woodworker and design expert working together to renovate homes in Laurel, Mississippi.

The HGTV stars have shared their lives with fans over the past 10 years. In 2025, they were the subject of split rumors, with online articles claiming that they were headed for divorce. But where do they stand today? Scroll down for everything we know.

Are Ben and Erin Napier still together?

Yes, the Napiers are still together. In fact, when rumors started circulating that they were divorcing in 2025, Erin quickly squashed the speculation.

“I can’t believe I even have to say this but NO, the click bait articles that we are splitting up are not real, y’all,” she wrote on her Instagram Story at the time. “They are AI generated in India or something and don’t even make any kind of sense. Y’all are smarter than this.”

She also urged her followers not to bring up the rumors in front of her and Ben’s kids, noting that it’s “upsetting” for them to hear because they “don’t understand what ‘online fake news’ means.”

The couple celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary in November 2025.

“Do you know what it’s like to be married to him? I would like to write it down for myself and the girls to know: it is all encompassing delight,” Erin shared on Instagram. “He delights in delighting, always everywhere, it is his first instinct. He is huge, the way he gives and loves and plays and talks. He is dripping with goodness, with LOVE. He fixes it all. Broken necklaces, Barbies, hearts. He picks the mood up, he tells the long story. He protects and treasures me so clearly I never, ever, wonder his intentions. My God has been so good to let us grow up together, to let me be positively ruined and spoiled by Ben Napier.”

How did Ben and Erin Napier meet?

Erin and Ben were both attending Jones County Junior College when they met for the first time in December 2004. Although they knew of each other over the years, they didn’t actually meet until Erin was working on a story about Ben for the school yearbook.

As she recalled in a 2025 Instagram post, “I had loved him for a long time, but he didn’t know that.” She remembered “fumbling” when she had a “few” opportunities to talk to Ben over the years because she was too nervous to strike up a conversation.

On December 8, 2004, Erin and Ben met to discuss the story for the yearbook. That night, she “kept getting texts” from him. “He was offering to see me the next day so he could check the brakes on my Volkswagen because I’d told him that afternoon, a car guy, they’d been making a weird sound,” Erin explained.

However, she was disappointed to learn he had also been texting her friend that night (she later learned that all the questions to the friend were about her). The next day, they went through with the yearbook shoot and interview, after which Ben asked Erin to go for a drive. “We drove for hours,” Erin shared, adding that they ended the night by “[talking] for hours about our families, our past relationships.” She made it back to her dorm by midnight, only to spend the next four hours continuing her conversation with Ben on the phone.

By December 9, Ben met Erin’s mom because she had to grab something from her parents’ house before their planned night out. On their way home that night, they had their first kiss. Erin ended things with the guy she was seeing the next day, and by December 13, 2004, Ben met both of her parents.

“We never stopped talking. We had 19 and 21 years to catch up on, and there was no detail too trivial,” Erin revealed. “Ben says his mom told him ‘you marry the one you never want to stop talking to.’ So 6 days after meeting, and 2 days before we would be on a one month Christmas break apart, he told me ‘I think I’m in love with you.’ and I said ‘I’m in love with you too.’ ‘I’m going to marry you,’ he told me — ‘That sounds perfect,’ I told him. We haven’t really ever spent any time apart since then.”

They tied the knot less than four years later in November 2008.

How many kids do Ben and Erin Napier have?

Ben and Erin are parents to two daughters: Helen, born in January 2018, and Mae, born in May 2021.

In a 2025 interview on the That Sounds Fun podcast, Ben admitted that he and his wife “weren’t looking to have kids” before they welcomed Helen. Erin said it wasn’t that they “didn’t want” children, but had accepted that they might not be able to have them biologically because she suffered a perforated appendix in 2014.

“They said I could likely get pregnant but told me it could be difficult to carry a baby full-term,” Erin explained in an interview with People. She ended up conceiving both Helen and Mae naturally.

In another chat with the outlet, the pair confirmed that they are homeschooling their daughters. “When we say it, people are like, ‘Oh, did you hire a tutor?’ And we’re like, ‘No, we’re the tutors,'” Ben shared.
