Alyssa Farah Griffin is officially a mom! The View cohost welcomed her first child with husband Justin Griffin after years of fertility struggles.

Four months after announcing her pregnancy, Alyssa, 36, shared her exciting baby news on February 11. Whoopi Goldberg was actually the one to make the announcement publicly on The View. “First thing we want to do is start by congratulating Alyssa and her husband Justin, on the birth of their baby boy,” Goldberg said. “He weighed in at seven pounds and 19 and a half inches, both mom and baby are doing well. I’m sure they’re tired.”

Alyssa and Justin tied the knot in November 2021, more than a year after they got engaged in July 2020. A year into their marriage, the two “felt ready” to start their family, they previously told People. However, it turned out to be a long journey to actually welcoming a child for the couple.

After having difficulty conceiving, Alyssa and Justin went through five rounds of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) before they were successful. “My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for about a year and a half, and it wasn’t happening naturally,” Alyssa shared in December 2024. At the time, she was in her second cycle.

Throughout the process, Alyssa learned she had endometriosis, “an often-painful condition in which tissue that is similar to the inner lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus,” according to the Mayo Clinic. This can make it harder to get pregnant.

“I went undiagnosed my whole life until I started this process,” she revealed. “So that just added to the complications.”

Alyssa got the exciting call from her fertility doctor that she was pregnant around her own birthday in June 2025. “Both Justin and I just feel so grateful that we were in the position that we were even able to do that many rounds of IVF,” she added. “I consider it a miracle of science, and just such a wonderful thing that we’ve gotten to where we are now. So yeah, there was definitely some tears.”

She also noted that she “wanted a boy first,” which is what she got. “I grew up with sisters, and I’ve always liked the idea of a big brother looking out for the younger siblings,” Alyssa said. “Because we both want two kids.”
