What To Know

  • Prime Video has renewed Off Campus for a second season before the first season’s premiere.
  • The series is based on Elle Kennedy’s college hockey romance novels, which includes five main books.
  • The show has revealed several returning cast members and got a filming update in March 2026.

Off Campus is moving full steam ahead at Prime Video. On the heels of Crave’s Heated Rivalry, Prime Video will offer its own take on the hockey romance genre in May 2026. The streamer is so confident in the book-to-screen adaptation — the show is based on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling series of the same name — that it didn’t even wait until Season 1’s premiere to greenlight Season 2. And the cast will be getting back to work very soon.

Until then, you can get a head start in familiarizing yourself with all things Off Campus. Season 1 will adapt Kennedy’s first book, The Deal, which depicts music major Hannah (Ella Bright) and superstar hockey player Garrett’s (Belmont Cameli) opposites-attract romance. Each following book is centered around a member of an elite college hockey team and their love interest, all set against the backdrop of the fictional Briar University. Since 2015, Kennedy has written almost a dozen books within the universe, so there’s plenty of material for Prime Video to adapt.

Still, a few questions remain: When will Off Campus Season 2 come out? Which couple will it follow? Swooon has all the latest updates below.

When is Off Campus Season 2’s release date?

Though we know Season 1 is coming in hot in May 2026, the streamer hasn’t shared when Season 2 will premiere, but we do know when filming starts. When the renewal announcement arrived on February 12, Prime Video uploaded a video of Off Campus creator Louisa Levy sharing the news with the cast. After the Season 1 press tour, Levy told the cast that she’s “gonna put [them] right back on a plane and send [them] back to set” for Season 2.

On March 18, Teen Vogue reported that Cameli and his castmates were undergoing a two-week hockey bootcamp before Season 2 production begins in June. Further, Hollywood North Buzz reported that production will run from then until mid-September. It’s pretty much the same timeline that Season 1 had, and so we can likely expect a similar release date for Season 2. Hopefully, Off Campus summers will become a thing!

Which couple will Off Campus Season 2 be about?

That’s the big question. If the series follows the order of Kennedy’s books, then The Mistake would be the focus of Season 2. It follows Antonio Cipriano’s John Logan’s romance. After Logan has a one-night stand with freshman Grace Ivers, Logan pushes her away, thinking he has feelings for someone else. Eventually, he realizes what he’s missing and tries to get back into Grace’s, well, good graces. All the while, Logan has to make hard decisions about his future. Though he could pursue an NHL career after college, he feels like he has to go home to take care of his troubled father.

Off Campus captures the kind of emotionally charged, character-driven storytelling that truly resonates with our global Prime Video audience,” Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television for Amazon MGM Studios, said in a statement. “With its passionate fan base, rich source material, and an incredible creative team bringing Briar U to life, we knew that this series had the depth and momentum to continue beyond its first season.”

He continued, “Set against the high-intensity world of college hockey, the series explores deeply personal journeys and is brought to life by a tremendously talented cast whose chemistry and authenticity make every moment feel real. We have great confidence in the way Louisa has mastered this adaptation, and we’re excited to give fans even more of the romance, friendship, and heart that define the series.”

Who is in the Off Campus Season 2 cast?

Prime Video’s renewal statement confirmed that Bright, Cameli, Mika Abdalla (Allie), Stephen Kalyn (Dean), Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks (Tucker), and Josh Heuston (Justin) are “series regulars.” Only Heuston didn’t appear in the Season 2 announcement video. The statement didn’t mention the return of any of the other confirmed Season 1 cast members.

Further, Grace hasn’t been cast for Season 1, since she doesn’t appear in The Deal. It makes us wonder if Off Campus might switch up the order of the books. The Mistake is followed by The Score (Dean and Allie’s book) and The Goal (Tucker’s book). We’ll meet both Dean and Allie in Season 1, which could set the groundwork for their story as the immediate follow-up.

Only time will tell if Off Campus pulls a Bridgerton and changes the order of the books around, though Levy did give Teen Vogue some details about the future. “We aged down Tucker, for instance,” she revealed. “He’s the oldest in the books, and he’s the youngest in our series. That’s just because his [story] is the fourth book, and we want to make sure he’s still in college by the time we get there. We don’t want to be forced to overlap timelines in the same way if that doesn’t make sense for us. We want to keep driving the story forward, and we don’t want to be limited in that regard.”

What’s more, she added that “just because [a character’s] not in the show yet doesn’t mean that [they] don’t have plans for them in the future.” Anything’s possible in the Off Campus universe, at this point!
