Who Is ‘Summer House’ Star KJ Dillard’s Dad? His MLB Career, Their Relationship & More
KJ Dillard is one of the newbies on Season 10 of Summer House, and fans are slowly getting to know him throughout the season. In this season’s premiere episode, KJ opened up a bit about his family life, telling castmate Ciara Miller, “My parents separated when I was 1,0 and then we moved to Kansas City [from Arizona].”

Who is KJ Dillard’s dad?
While KJ didn’t reveal his father’s name on the show, he did confirm that he was a left fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Eagle-eyed fans on Reddit have identified KJs’ father as Al Martin.
Al was drafted out of high school by the Atlanta Braves in 1985. In 1992, he was granted free agency and signed with the Pirates. He played with the team until 1999 before a brief tenure with the San Diego Padres in 2000, a stint with the Seattle Mariners in 2000 and 2001, and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2003.
In 2004, Al played with the Korean professional baseball team, the LG Twins, before ending his professional career.
Al never married KJ’s mom, and they eventually separated. “My mom wasn’t going to deal with that s**t,” KJ explained in a Summer House preview. Al now lives in Arizona.
Does KJ Dillard have a relationship with his dad?
No, KJ does not currently have a relationship with his dad. In the Summer House preview, he admitted, “I haven’t talked to him in probably five to six years. It’s just kind of a pattern with him.”
For a lot of KJ’s childhood, he thought he “didn’t have a dad.” As he explained in a confessional, “I remember being, like, in kindergarten, specifically, and people being like, ‘Where’s your dad?’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, my mom said I don’t have a dad and God’s my dad.’ They’re like, ‘That’s not possible.’ Then I remember one day this man pulling up to my house with all these gifts and this big Hummer H1, and my mom’s like, ‘This is your dad.'”
KJ said that his dad has not tried to reach out to him. “I’ve texted him, and he just won’t even respond,” he admitted. “It’s low-key f**ked up.”
Who is KJ Dillard’s mom?
KJ has not revealed much about his mom, but he did confirm that she is a nurse who now lives in Arizona. “My mom raised me,” he told Miller.
Does KJ Dillard have siblings?
Yes, he said in the Summer House premiere that he has two younger sisters. One of his sisters is Ally Dillard, who is a coach for Arizona Dynamics Gymnastics in Arizona.
