Gordon Ramsay and his wife, Tana Ramsay, will celebrate 30 years of marriage at the end of 2026, but they don’t always agree on everything. In fact, when Gordon first brought up the idea of documenting his life on a new Netflix show, Tana wasn’t totally onboard.
“[She] wasn’t a big fan” of the idea of the show in the beginning, Gordon told People. However, he revealed why he went through with the series, Being Gordon Ramsay, in the end.
“I think, you know, I love a challenge,” he said. The show will document Gordon launching five culinary experiences in London, while also giving viewers an insight into his family life with Tana and their six kids.
“I thrive on pressure,” he continued. “That’s the excitement with chefs. You have that relentless pursuit of absolute utter perfection with a sort of concoction of challenges, difficult challenges. And I think I couldn’t do a project like this 10 years ago, unless I had the wealth of experience that I’ve just spent the last 20 years crafting.”
He also teased a sweet family moment featuring him, his wife, and their kids getting together for Sunday lunch, a family ritual. “The two little ones can’t quite believe all their siblings are there, but they chat across the table from what’s going on in the world to Oscar’s school reports, to his Kumon, to his spelling,” Gordon shared, referring to the 20-plus-year age gap between his four oldest kids and his two youngest kids. “He’s counting to 25 now in French. And so yeah, it’s quite an incredible dynamic.”
Gordon confirmed that his daughter, Tilly, who’s following in his footsteps as a chef, will be a big part of the series. “Food, restaurants, this industry, you really need to want it, and Tilly was banging the door down,” he admitted, adding that she decided to study at culinary school in Ireland, rather than training with him.
“I have to give her credit for that,” Gordon shared. “And finally, one out of the six wants to be a chef, which has made my entire f**king year.”
