Prime Video loves a teen rom-dram with an ambiguous love triangle. A few months ago, Tell Me Softly left its viewers wondering which brother the main character would end up with — and now, Love Me Love Me has proposed a similar question. However, this movie finds June (Mia Jenkins) torn between two best friends instead. On one hand, there’s prickly and guarded MMA fighter James (Pepe Barroso Silva), and on the other, seemingly-perfect honor student Will (Luca Melucci).
As the Wattpad adaptation unfolds, we learn that neither boy is all that they seem. Though he’s an antagonistic presence in June’s life at first, James reveals his protective, softer side over time. Will spirals when he learns of James and June’s connection, nearly overdosing on pills at one point and becoming increasingly possessive over June. All of the drama comes to a head in the movie’s third act. We’re breaking down Love Me Love Me‘s ending below and exploring June’s romantic fate in Stefania S. book series of the same name.
How does Love Me Love Me end?
Love Me Love Me ends on an explosive note, figuratively and literally. First, though, June goes to a masquerade party with Will and the rest of her classmates. There, an anonymous video goes around that makes it look like June is hooking up with James and cheating on Will. Humiliated, June runs off, and James comforts her. They fall asleep together, and their angry parents — James’ dad is June’s mom’s boss — find them. June later learns that her “friend,” Amelia (Andrea Gao), is responsible for the video.
Despite insisting that he was uninterested in MMA fighting, Will decides to take out his frustrations on James in the ring. James doesn’t want to fight his friend, but Will doesn’t hold back. June stops the fight by pulling the fire alarm, but another problem quickly arises. James’ stepdad trainer, who’s been encouraging him to take steroids, whisks James away in a car. He wants to remove James from the equation so his misdeeds aren’t exposed. They crash, but luckily, June and Will were following them on motorbikes.
After Will helps pull James from the fiery wreckage, the trio collapses onto the ground together. Will decides that James has suffered enough, saying that there’s no ill will between them anymore. In a voiceover, June remarks that they made it out alive, and Will has forgiven her and James. Before the credits roll — with an ambiguous “The End?” title card — June says she might finally have her first kiss with James. That’s right: After all of that, they didn’t even kiss!
Who does June end up with in Love Me Love Me?
The movie’s ending isn’t totally straightforward, since James and June don’t officially get together. At this point, it’s safe to say that things are leaning in James’ favor. But what do the books say?
Stefania S. has written four books about June’s romance: Love Me, Love Me: Polar Opposites, Love Me Love Me 3: Endless Love, and Love Me Love Me 4: Still Together. So far, only the first book has been translated from Italian to English, though the second book will soon follow in March 2026. It seems that the sequel keeps the love triangle going, per its blurb. June is heartbroken over Will, but she grows closer to James.
We can’t yet read the third and fourth books ourselves — unfortunately, we’re not fluent in Italian — but it seems like June and James are endgame. According to Endless Love‘s translated blurb, James and June have admitted their feelings for each other by their senior year, but James unexpectedly goes missing. Still Together finds the couple parents to a son. Sorry, Will.
