Love Is Blind couple Alex Henderson and Ashley Carpenter quickly bonded over their shared love for books and their instantly flirty connection. Now, they’re testing the strength of their love outside of the pods.
“In my past relationships, I adapted to the toxic environment, and I’ve been numb to a lot of feelings,” Ashley told viewers. “I guess it’s just easier for me to feel nothing than to take the risk of feeling something and getting hurt again. And with Alex, I am very ready to take that risk.”

Are Love Is Blind‘s Alex and Ashley still together?
Yes, as of Episode 9, Alex and Ashley are still together. While the couple has not faced too many hurdles so far, Alex has voiced to others that Ashley is not his usual type. In Cabo, Alex sat down with Brittany Wicker, telling her that he usually goes for darker features in “[his] woman.” He also confessed that he is emotionally connected to Ashley, but wasn’t sure about their physical connection yet. Despite an early physical connection, Alex told Netflix, “The intimacy kind of tapers off, and that becomes an issue later on.”

While Alex gushed about Ashley to her family, it’s still unclear whether he actually feels ready to tie the knot. During the preview for the rest of the season, Alex tells someone, “I want that brunette, brown-eyed girl.” This is instantly followed by Ashley angrily telling Alex, “You’ve been in contact with her for years,” seemingly talking about Priyanka Grandhi, another Pod Squad member, with whom he was friends before the show. That being said, we’ll have to wait until Part 3 of the season to know for sure!
Why were Alex and Ashley fighting over water bottles?
One of Alex and Ashley’s most memorable moments outside of the pods was when Alex revealed that he and Ashley had an argument over how they arranged water bottles in the fridge. As Netflix put it, “After grocery shopping, Alex seemed to take offense at how Ashley rearranged water bottles in their refrigerator.”
According to Alex, that argument was actually about water bottles. He explained, “The water bottle is a microcosm. This is a symptom of the actual issue.” At the time, he told her, “I’m not saying you’re a control freak. I’m saying I want some space to operate here, so I feel at home, too, and if I’m not meeting your standard, then tell me.”
When did Alex and Ashley get engaged?
Alex and Ashley got engaged during Episode 3 of Season 10. During his sweet proposal, he referenced their shared love for The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. He told her, “I have so much confidence in us and that our treasure is here. Ashley Carpenter, I am on one knee. And I would love it if you will marry me.” She responded, “I would absolutely love to marry you and be your wife.”

What happened when Alex met Ashley’s dad?
Outside of the pods, Alex’s meeting with Ashley’s family had everyone talking. At their dinner, Ashley’s dad, Paul, absolutely grilled Alex on everything from where he’s lived to who he voted for. While Alex didn’t vote during the recent presidential election because he was living abroad, he made it clear that, like Ashley’s family, he would have proudly voted for Trump.
