‘The Bachelorette’: Should Maura Higgins Be the Show’s Next Lead? Fans React
Maura Higgins is fresh off her second place finish on Season 4 of The Traitors, but fans already have another reality show they want to see her on: The Bachelorette!
Higgins confirmed during The Traitors reunion that she is single, and a Reddit thread pitching her as the next Bachelorette lead has garnered dozens of comments. Many fans noted that they’d be thrilled to see the Love Island UK alum try to find love on American television.
“I’m surprised no one has mentioned this. I would so watch her season,” the original poster said, while someone replied, “I would love this.” Another person wrote, “I’d start watching again,” and a third commenter posted, “Absolutely YES all day YES! a season I would watch.”
Someone else called Higgins the “most beautiful woman” they’d ever seen on television, and another commenter added, “She is so funny and very beautiful. I’d watch that for sure!” One fan said a Bachelorette season starring Higgins would be “pure gold,” and someone else noted, “She would be one of the hottest bachelorettes of all time! The men would go crazyyyy. I can also see her being very messy lol! I’m here for it.”
Other fans argued that Higgins is “too good” to star on The Bachelorette, and someone said the show is “genuinely beneath her.”
If this were to happen, it wouldn’t be for quite some time, as The Bachelorette already has its 2026 lead: Taylor Frankie Paul. Her season filmed in fall 2025 and premieres on March 22.
Higgins, who worked as a model before making her reality television debut, starred on Love Island UK in 2019. She finished in fourth place with Curtis Pritchard. She went on to start hosting various shows, and also competed on the U.K.’s Dancing on Ice, Cooking With the Stars, and I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
On The Traitors, Higgins, a faithful, formed an alliance with Rob Rausch. Unbeknownst to her, he was selected as a traitor, which she did not figure out, causing her to lose at the final bonfire against him. This meant that Rausch took home the entire prize pot, leaving Higgins with no money. While Higgins was shocked at Rausch’s reveal, she did not hold it against him, and he also made it up to her by buying her the Birkin bag he promised her after the betrayal.
