The duo joined the 90 Day universe during Season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Season 2, alongside Darcey Silva and Jesse Meester. They then joined the Season 7 cast of 90 Day Fiancé and continued their journey on 90 Day: The Last Resort Season 1 and 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Seasons 5-8. Now, it’s safe to say the duo has made their last franchise appearance as a couple.

Why did Michael Ilesanmi and Angela Deem break up?

Once Michael finally arrived in America — it took nearly four years for the 90 Day star’s visa to get approved — their previously long-distance arguments only got worse. He told viewers, “I thought when I got here things would be better for us, but I was wrong, you know? Things got worse when I got here.”

After moving in with Angela in late 2023, Michael was reported missing in February 2024, a terrifying fact that Angela revealed on a social media live stream. She told followers, “Michael’s been missing since the 23rd. The police are involved. We can’t find him. Michael left everything here… Clothes on his back is what he left with on Friday.” Days later, he was found safe, telling police he “feared for his life.”

He later told Entertainment Tonight, “The reason why I left Angie’s house is because I mean, it’s very, very sad, you know. I feel like I’m an unwanted guest. I wasn’t treated like I’m her husband. I was treated like I’m just a nobody… I’m telling you, every day we fight, we argue.” He revealed that he got to the point where he “couldn’t just bear it anymore.” After his disappearance, the duo began their road to divorce.

Michael and Angela revealed on Season 2 of Before the 90 Days that they met on social media. Angela explained, “I didn’t know who he was, but his profile picture looked cute. He’s from Nigeria, and he’s 30 years old. At first he told me he was 40. I told him I was 50. We both were telling d*** lies, cause he’s 30 and I’m 52.” On Before the 90 Days, Angela traveled to Lagos, Nigeria, to meet Michael for the first time IRL.

Michael and Angela tied the knot on January 27, 2020, in Nigeria. The two got married following his first K-1 Visa denial. Even so, Michael’s visa process took three years. He finally touched down in America in 2023, just a few months before he went missing.
