Is ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 5 Still Happening? Everything We Know So Far
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 4 ended with a bang, and now we’re all just trying to wait patiently for Season 5. As usual with the Hulu reality stars, more off-camera drama has been brewing in the months since Season 4 was filmed.
Season 5 will likely cover Taylor Frankie Paul‘s journey on The Bachelorette as well as what happens after her season comes to a close. New reports claim that The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has halted filming for Season 5 amid a “domestic assault investigation” regarding Taylor and her ex, Dakota Mortensen. The reports and rumors have SLOMW fans wondering about the future of the series. Swooon is breaking down everything we know about The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5.
Will there be a Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has technically been renewed for Season 5. In November 2025, Hulu renewed the series for 20 more episodes, which SLOMW had previously split into two seasons. Season 4’s 10 episodes premiered on March 12, so we can expect Season 5’s 10 episodes to likely debut later this year. Given the rollout of past seasons, Season 5 should be getting a late summer/early fall premiere date.
Why is The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 on pause?
According to TMZ, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 filming reportedly paused because of a “heated blowup” between Taylor and her on-again-off-again ex, Dakota. Sources alleged that production is “currently shut down” because “the situation became intense enough that filming couldn’t continue as planned.”
People‘s sources revealed that the show is “not filming” at the moment.”Taylor [Frankie Paul] has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off.”
A Draper City Police Department spokesperson confirmed to the outlet that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” regarding Taylor and Dakota. According to the spokesperson, “allegations have been made in both directions” and “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th.”
Hulu has not addressed the report, nor have Taylor and Dakota. Taylor attended the Oscars on March 15 in Los Angeles. She also posted a TikTok featuring a mystery man on the same day, which many fans believe is her Bachelorette pick.

A source close to the cast told People that Taylor’s fellow MomTok members are distancing themselves from Taylor amid the ongoing drama. “None of the women want to be associated with her,” the source claimed.
Who is returning for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5?
Most of the Season 4 cast is expected to return for Season 5. Whitney Leavitt confirmed she’s currently filming, despite living in New York City, in her latest interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She also spoke about her future with the series and if she’d return after Season 5.

Disney / Fred Hayes
“Well, I’m figuring it out in real time,” she said. “We’re figuring it out together, but it feels like that’s the trajectory of where it’s going. But again, I wouldn’t be where I am without it, but it feels like it’s time to challenge myself in other ways and fulfill these dreams and passions that I’ve been trying to get even before the show.”
In addition to Whitney and Taylor, the other Mormon wives will likely be back, including Jen Affleck, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura, Miranda McWhorter, Layla Taylor, and Mikayla Matthews. The only one who is up in the air is Demi Engemann, who stopped filming during Season 4.

This means the dudes of DadTok — Dakota, Jordan Ngatikaura, Jacob Neeley, Jace Terry, Zac Affleck, Chase McWhorter, and Conner Leavitt — will most likely be joining their wives/partners/exes.
What happened in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 4?
Seriously, what didn’t happen in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 4? On the Taylor and Dakota front, their on-again, off-again relationship continued. They fought, hooked up, and fought over and over again. Dakota also started seeing Miranda’s best friend, Shinia Powell. In the Season 4 finale, Dakota claimed that he and Taylor had sex the night before she left to go film The Bachelorette.
Jessi and Jordan tried to work through their issues after her emotional affair with Vanderpump Villa‘s Marciano Brunette, but things are still rocky between them. Tension between Jen and Whitney boiled over as the two competed against each other on Dancing With the Stars. Jace and Mikaya’s intimacy issues continued, and they decided to separate so they could work on healing.
Layla wanted to pursue modeling in Season 4, but she was rejected by Ford Modeling. She then revealed that she only weighed “99 pounds” after she began using GLP-1 weight loss drugs.
