Will There Be a ‘Blue Therapy’ Season 2? Everything We Know So Far
What To Know
- Netflix released Blue Therapy Season 1 on March 4, 2026.
- Blue Therapy Season 1 filmed in 2025, seeing seven couples work through their issues with a relationship coach.
- Karen Doherty was the relationship coach in the first season.
In Netflix’s British docuseries Blue Therapy, relationship coach Karen Doherty was tasked with helping seven real couples confront their issues head-on. In eight episodes, viewers saw different pairings discuss everything from their opposing views on marriage to their lack of financial stability. By the end of their sessions, they had to make a choice: Stay together and keep working on their relationships, or part ways.
The premise, which is based on Andy Amadi’s viral 2021 web series of the same name, has gotten plenty of viewers talking since its premiere in March 2026. Has all of the buzz earned Blue Therapy a Season 2 renewal? Can you expect new relationship drama anytime soon? Swooon has all of the latest updates below.
Has Blue Therapy been renewed or cancelled?
Netflix hasn’t shared what’s next for the series, but you can get your Blue Therapy fix in the meantime. Amadi’s Trend Central show is still available on YouTube. Channel 4 even adapted it for TV before Netflix did, in the form of 2023’s In Love & Toxic: Blue Therapy.
When would Blue Therapy Season 2 premiere?
Season 1 premiered on March 4, 2026, a little over a year after Netflix revealed it was in the works. Casting started around the same time the show was announced in February 2025, according to Deadline. If the show gets a renewal soon, Season 2 could follow a similar timeline and release in early 2027.
Would Karen Doherty return for Blue Therapy Season 2?
Doherty helped a number of couples work through their issues on TV — but would she do it again? We don’t know for sure since Blue Therapy‘s renewal is still up in the air, but the relationship coach did say Season 1 had a “profound effect” on her.

“The experience has stayed with me in ways I didn’t fully expect,” Doherty wrote on her blog. “Being part of the production was genuinely enjoyable, down to both the creative process and the couples at the heart of the show. There were talented people working in all aspects of the show.”
Which Blue Therapy Season 1 couples are still together?
Though many went on Blue Therapy to save their relationships, not every romance stayed intact, as revealed during the five-month flash-forward at the end of the season.
