Ashley began by revealing that she didn’t plan to go on the Netflix show in the first place. “I actually did not apply to be on the show,” she said in a TikTok video. “Someone else was reached out to over social media, and they’re like, ‘I’m married, but you have to meet my friend Ashley.’ And on my 38th birthday, I got a text and said, ‘Don’t hate me, but,’ and she’s like, ‘I just gave your name to a casting director.’”

Ashley, a native of Fishers, Indiana, left her marketing director job to start her own brand, Fashionately Me. She also co-hosts Behind the Filter: After Dark podcast, on which she and her best friend cover topics like aging, trends, and fashion. Per her Netflix bio, Ashley felt drained by corporate America, so she moved back home to live with her Greek family.
“It’s unconventional, but I’ve honestly never been happier,” she said, adding that she wants a Greek wedding, but isn’t in a rush. “People try to force a relationship to work out of desperation to be married. I’m looking for my future baby daddy.”

Wottring shared more about herself in her TikTok video about the show. “I’m 39 years old. I was 38 when the show filmed, and when it comes to my dating life, I’ve honestly been single for as long as I can remember,” she said. “I’m just a big believer that when you know, you know, and I don’t want to waste time trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.”
She shared that there is one thing she thinks has affected her dating life. “I’m going to start to talk about it more, but it’s something that I haven’t really talked about in a really long time outside of my close circle,” Ashley began. “That is that I’m a virgin waiting for marriage. I know. Take it in.”
