This mirrored her current relationship with Ziad. She also explained, “Ziad and my ex, Mohammed, are both Muslim, but Mohammed was very conservative.”
Ahead of her time in Morocco this time around, Emma had not told Ziad about her relationship with Mohammed. She explained, “I really want to tell Ziad about my last engagement because I think it’s the only way that we can move forward.” Once Emma did tell Ziad about her past, during Episode 11, Ziad instantly pulled the plug on their relationship.
