‘Hannah Montana’: Did Miley End Up With Jake or Jesse?
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 20 years since Hannah Montana premiered on Disney Channel and changed Miley Cyrus‘ life forever. She was just 13 years old when she began filming the show about a regular girl’s double life as a famous pop star named Hannah Montana.
The show aired for four seasons before concluding in 2011, and there was also Hannah Montana: The Movie, which came out in the middle of Season 3. Cyrus will be looking back on all of it in a 20th Anniversary Special on Disney+.
While Miley/Hannah had a few love interests during the course of the show, the main men in her life were Jake Ryan (Cody Linley) and Jesse (Drew Roy). But which one of them did she end up with in the series finale? Scroll down for a refresh.
Who did Hannah Montana end up with?
Miley ended up with her guitarist, Jesse, who was introduced on the show in Season 3, at the end of Hannah Montana. However, their romance was not the focal point of the episode. Rather, the finale was centered around Miley’s friendship with Lilly (Emily Osment).
In the final episode, Miley and Lilly had plans to go to college together until Hannah was offered a movie role in Paris. Because Miley and Lilly did everything together, the latter was upset when her best friend didn’t initially tell her about the project. Of course, they made up, and Lilly agreed to go to Paris with Miley.
While they were at the airport heading overseas, Miley had a sweet moment with Jesse as they said goodbye, insinuating that they were still a couple and would be considered Hannah Montana endgame.
Lilly eventually decided to go to college and forge her own path, but the show ended with Miley knocking on her dorm room door, confirming that she’d dropped out of the movie and was now her roommate.
Why did Hannah Montana and Jake Ryan split?
Jake Ryan was Miley’s schoolmate, but could also relate to her Hannah side because he was a famous actor. They had an on/off relationship throughout the series.
When Jesse was introduced in Season 3, Miley was forced to choose between him and Jake, and she ultimately decided to be with Jake, her longtime love. However, she eventually found out Jake was cheating on her, and the relationship ended for good.
It was after the breakup in Season 4 that Miley began to seriously pursue Jesse.
What happened with Travis Brody?
In Hannah Montana: The Movie, Miley’s father, Robby (Billy Ray Cyrus), flew her home to Tennessee for a slowdown when she started getting too caught up in her life as Hannah. It was there that she reconnected with a childhood friend, Travis Brody (Lucas Till).
Miley was keeping her Hannah secret from Travis, but it all came crashing down when she had to make an appearance as Hannah at a local event as a favor to Lorelai (Melora Hardin). The gathering took place at the same time Miley was supposed to have a date with Travis, and while she tried to make both work, he eventually learned that she was keeping a major secret from him, and the relationship ended.

However, after Miley helped finish renovating Travis’ chicken coop and then openly told the entire town that she was Hannah, he forgave her. The movie ended with them sharing a kiss.
The romance didn’t last once Miley went back to the West Coast, though. Travis was never mentioned in the episodes of Hannah Montana that aired after the movie.
