Will there be a Love Story Season 2?
As of March 23, FX has not renewed Love Story for Season 2 just yet. However, a renewal is pretty much a sure thing. The first season has broken streaming records for FX on Hulu, becoming the most-watched limited series ever on streaming, with more than 25 million hours viewed across the first five episodes on Disney+ and Hulu.
Who will be the couple in Love Story Season 2?
The show hasn’t gotten the green light for Season 2, but that hasn’t stopped pretty much everyone from chiming in about ideas for the Season 2 couple. (Swooon’s list of picks is coming soon.)
Love Story creator Connor Hines has already hinted at a Hollywood romance he’d want to pursue in a potential Season 2. “Maybe Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton,” he told Vanity Fair. “They have the right intensity.” (Taylor and Burton were famously married twice after meeting and falling in love on the set of Cleopatra.)

When will Love Story Season 2 be released?
Since we don’t know the status of Love Story Season 2, we don’t have a premiere date yet. The first season was in limbo for years after its announcement in 2021. However, once casting got underway in 2025, Love Story moved quickly. The show began filming in June and premiered in February 2026.
If a second season followed that schedule, we could see Love Story return to FX in 2027. However, a 2028 premiere date is most likely.
When is the Love Story Season 1 finale?
The Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette finale is set to air on March 26 on FX. The beginning of the series showed John (Paul Anthony Kelly) and Carolyn (Sarah Pidgeon) on the last day of their lives, just before the July 16, 1999, plane crash that killed them and Carolyn’s sister Lauren Bessette. A teaser for the finale hasn’t been released, but the penultimate episode took place in July 1999.
