During Season 8 of Before the 90 Days, viewers met Rick, a 52-year-old self-proclaimed jack-of-all-trades who recently learned that Madagascar was a real place, not just a DreamWorks movie featuring the ever iconic King Julian. After searching for women from Madagascar on a dating site, Rick met a 25-year-old midwife named Trisha. From then on, the two started dating and planning for a future together.

Yes, as of Episode 15 of Season 8, Rick and Trisha are still together. That being said, the couple has made it over many major roadblocks to get to where they are today. Right off the bat, Rick suspected that Trisha had cheated on him, only to reveal to viewers and later Trisha that he had cheated on her instead. While this had Trisha convinced that her family would not approve of their relationship, a far larger issue came into play when Rick revealed that he is unsure whether he wants more kids.
Does Trisha’s family approve of Rick?
Right now, Trisha and Rick are trying to earn her family’s approval so that they can be together, and their approval hinges on Rick agreeing to have more kids. At the start of the season, Trisha told viewers, “I’m a midwife because I love babies. In my tribe, we believe that every woman should have [a] child.” Of course, Rick is uncertain about having more kids, as he already has five, with the oldest being four years Trisha’s senior.
Why did Rick cheat on Trisha?
Rick and Trisha have also faced tension over his infidelity. At the start of the season, Rick revealed that he believed Trisha had cheated on him with her ex during a short period where she ghosted him online. Trisha maintained that nothing had happened, leading Rick to admit that he had cheated on her with his ex. According to Rick, this was right after Trisha ghosted him, when he thought she had moved on.
How did Rick and Trisha meet?
According to Rick, he met two “beautiful” women from Madagascar on a recent trip, inspiring him to want to date a woman from the country. He told viewers, “I love to travel, and on a recent trip, I met two very attractive women from Madagascar… I thought to myself, these girls are so beautiful, so I decided to go on a dating site and search for Madagascar.” Soon after he joined the app, he met Trisha, and the rest was history!
