‘Hope Valley: 1874’ Preview: Rebecca & Tom’s Connection Deepens (VIDEO)

A busy day doesn’t stop Rebecca Clarke (Bethany Joy Lenz) and Tom Moore (Benjamin Ayres) from bumping into each other for a flirty exchange outside of the trading post, in Swooon‘s exclusive sneak peek of Hope Valley: 1874 Episode 3, “Good Prospects.”

After finding success selling pies in the settlement, Rebecca comes up with a more lucrative plan to fund the boarding house repair and, with the help of Hattie (Jill Hennessy), she opens a mess tent in the prospectors’ camp to feed those panning for gold.”

In Swooon‘s preview, which you can watch above, Rebecca leaves the trading post in a hurry, preparing to make a big meal for the local prospectors. When Tom, who is tying up his horse outside, sees her, he exclaims, “You’re in a hurry.” According to Rebecca, she’s about to serve her first meal, and Tom is “more than welcome to come by.”

During Episode 3, “Tom is faced with the challenge of running his ranch short-handed after he discovers his cowboys have taken off to try their luck at panning for gold.” Now, he’s putting up a notice for more ranch hands.

Offering some pointed sympathy, Rebecca tells Tom, “I’m sorry. I know it’s hard when people you trust let you down.” Tom’s response? “Speaking from personal experience?”

Ever stubborn, Tom refuses to talk with his ranchers turned prospectors again, telling Rebecca, “There’s no point. I’ve already given them a piece of my mind.” Looking at his situation from an alternative perspective, which has been the norm for their relationship thus far, Rebecca questions, “And don’t you ever wonder what’s on their mind? See things from their perspective?”

With an adorable nudge from his horse, Tom is left with a lot to think about… And so are we!
