‘Love on the Spectrum’s Emma Miller Reveals Off-Camera Split & Future Dating Plans

During Season 4 of Love on the Spectrum, viewers fell in love with Emma Miller, a 22-year-old from Provo, Utah. After making her debut on the beloved series, Emma sat down with Swooon to chat all things dating, songwriting, and more!
As a member of the Mormon church, Emma made it clear that she wants to share her faith with a romantic partner. During the season, she went on three dates, one with Austin and two with Eric, who are both Mormon as well. While she declined a second date with Austin, Emma dated Eric through the end of the season. (Spoilers for Love on the Spectrum Season 4 ahead!)
On their second date, Emma and Eric went to La Caille, where her mom had her bridal photos taken years ago. There, the two shared their first kiss. When asked if they continued dating after the cameras stopped rolling, Emma shared, “We went to the aquarium and his house a few times.” However, Emma revealed to Swooon that she and Eric are just friends today.

Outside of romance, Emma introduced viewers to her vibrant life at ScenicView Academy, a transitional school for adults on the autism spectrum. There, she gave a showstopping performance of her original love song, “My Own Fairy Tale.” Of course, we had to ask Emma about her songwriting process and if we can expect to hear more original songs in the future.
“My music teacher, Josh, actually cowrote the song with me,” she explained. “He actually listened to what I had to say and what kind of song I wanted to write. Then he put it into lyrics.” When it comes to what she wanted to say through the song, Emma explained, “I thought of when I was little, as I explained in the song, I used to think of love as a fairy tale, and now that I’m older, I’m getting more realistic about love.”
Now, Emma is working on a new song about her two younger brothers, Preston and Cam. “It’s called ‘Daredevil and American Boy,'” Emma told Swooon. “The daredevil is my youngest brother, Cam. The American boy is my brother Preston, who’s on a mission right now.”

Ultimately, Emma revealed to Swooon that she is eager to return to Love on the Spectrum and continue her search for love if given the opportunity. Looking forward, Emma is continuing to “see what’s out there [and is] open to new experiences.” She explained that she is looking to “find what works for me and what doesn’t work for me.”
Now that she’s in her single era, we’re hoping to see more of Emma’s journey in Season 5 of the beloved series!
