During Swooon‘s exclusive sneak peek of the April 13 episode of 90 Day: The Single Life, Vanja comes to realize that “Friend Tony” and “Boyfriend Tony” might be two different people entirely.
Vanja Grbic made her first franchise appearance during Season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. On 90 Day: The Single Life, she found a second (or should we say third?) shot at love in the franchise. During Season 5, she revealed that she had feelings for her friend, Tony. By midseason, Tony went from just her friend to her boyfriend.
Now, as viewers can see in Swooon‘s preview of Episode 10, the couple is about to have their first tough conversation. Tony tells Vanja, “So, I was thinking, since this is my last night here in Maine, that we can spend more time together tonight… Because I’m staying here by myself, I thought you can maybe join me?”
Once Tony brings up the discussion of spending the night together, Vanja makes it clear that she wants to set some “expectations” about their intimacy. According to Vanja, this time around, she wants to remain celibate until she knows that she’s comfortable with her partner.
“Celibacy has been the story of my life,” She explains. “For me, being intimate with somebody is a super big deal, and I want to make sure that I’m comfortable. I definitely know it’s not going to be before a three-month mark. Could be six months.”
Seems like Tony was not expecting this because he tells viewers, “Six months with Vanja is going to definitely be a long time because we definitely have physical chemistry.” That said, he explains, “I do respect her past and her celibacy, and that’s something I want to honor.”
However, Vanja’s “past” isn’t the only reason she wants to stay celibate with Tony. “Sex in a relationship is always a big risk, and I don’t know how long until the time feels right,” she says. “Because this weekend I learned that Friend Tony and Boyfriend Tony aren’t necessarily the same person. I might be more cautious moving forward because who knows what might come to light about Tony next.”
