Who Is ‘Laguna Beach’ Star Lauren Conrad’s Husband? Her Love Life Today
Lauren Conrad is reliving her high school days in The Reunion: Laguna Beach, but she’s come a long way from her “love triangle” with Stephen Colletti and Kristin Cavallari. Today, the former reality star is happily married to husband William Tell.
The couple tied the knot in September 2014 and have mostly lived their lives out of the public eye. However, Tell was there to support his wife at the premiere for the Laguna Beach reunion special last month.
“My husband’s a smoke show! We both dove in almost immediately,” she recently told People. “We fell hard and got engaged a year and a half after we started dating, which is pretty quick.”

How did Lauren Conrad meet her husband?
Conrad and Tell actually first met in 2002 when she was 16 and “sitting on stage at one of his concerts,” she once revealed in a blog post. At the time, Tell was the guitarist for the band Something Corporate. However, their real “meet cute” story didn’t happen until 10 years later when they were set up by a mutual friend on Valentine’s Day 2012.
While recently appearing on Cavallari’s Let’s Be Honest podcast, Conrad explained that her friend Jill set up the blind date. “Her very good friend from college went to law school with William,” Conrad shared. “So I knew her through Jill, and she was like, ‘I have this guy I’m going to school with, and I just feel like you guys would get along.'”
The ladies were doing a big group dinner for Valentine’s Day, and Jill brought Tell along. “It was a big dinner, but we, like, went out afterwards,” Conrad added. “We shut down the bar and just were, like, immediately … that was it.”
The Hills alum admitted that she fell in love with her now-husband “very quickly” because of how they were able to communicate. “It felt very safe,” she shared, adding that they started saying “I love you” after about a month and a half. They moved in together four months after meeting, got engaged in October 2013, and tied the knot less than a year later.
What does Lauren Conrad’s husband do for a living?
Tell was in Something Corporate from 2001 to 2004, then briefly pursued a solo music career. However, once he realized that wasn’t taking off, he switched gears and began studying to become a lawyer.
In order to apply to law school, Tell had to complete his undergraduate degree. He did so at the University of Southern California, graduating in 2011 with a degree in music business. The former rocker then attended USC’s Gould School of Law and received his JD in 2014, per LinkedIn.
Now, Tell works as an attorney and specializes in entertainment law.
How many kids does Lauren Conrad have?
Conrad and Tell are parents to two children. Their first son, Liam, was born in July 2017, followed by another son, Charlie, in October 2019.

“[William is] so engaged with our kids,” Conrad gushed. “He’s the parent who does funny voices when he reads the story, he coaches every team they’re on. It’s been really fun to parent together.”
