Are ‘American Idol’s Brooks Rosser & Rae Dating? Why Fans Are Shipping Them
What To Know
- Brooks Rosser and Rae posted a duet video on Instagram and fans are shipping them as a couple.
- Both singers are contestants in Season 24 of American Idol.
- They’ll sing live again on April 13 with hopes of being voted through to the Top 9.
Do we have our first American Idol Season 29 showmance on our hands!? That’s what fans are speculating after seeing a recent video of Brooks Rosser and Rae on social media.
The video was posted by Brooks on April 12 and featured him duetting with his fellow American Idol contestant. Their voices blended in perfect harmony, and Brooks played guitar to complete the performance.
“Truly hope this is a love story in the making,” one fan commented. Another wrote, “Rae needs to take note how this amazing guy is looking at her. This is what fairytales are made from.”
Someone else wondered, “Are you guys falling in love?” and another commenter wrote, “I literally can’t handle the way yall are looking at each other… so stinking precious!!! And the voices are just immaculate.”

Rae and Brooks have not commented on the dating rumors themselves, but host Ryan Seacrest has been known to call out showmances in the past, so we’ll have to see if he puts Brooks and Rae on the spot.
Brooks posted the video as a reminder to fans to tune into the April 13 Live Show, where he and Rae will perform along with the rest of the Top 11. This week, the remaining artists will be singing songs by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, and only nine will move forward.
Viewers will once again get to vote for their favorites, and the two artists with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated. Last week, Rae was one of the singers in the bottom two, but she was saved by judge Lionel Richie, who won the Judges’ Song Contest and got to pick one artist to keep in the competition (Jesse Findling, the other contestant in the bottom two, was eliminated).
