90 Day Fiancé fans may remember the duo from the inaugural season of Before the 90 Days in 2017, when Paul traveled to Brazil to meet his long-distance love, Karine, for the first time IRL. The now-exes then went on to star in Before the 90 Days Season 2 in 2018, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 1 in 2019, and 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 5 in 2020. Needless to say, after six years, fans have grown eager for a relationship update on the notoriously messy couple.

Are 90 Day Fiancé‘s Karine and Paul still together?
Karine and Paul Staehle are no longer together. According to their divorce filing, the married couple split more than a year ago and have been living separately for months. On April 22, TMZ revealed, “The judge in their case signed off on their divorce on April 13 after Karine filed a petition to dissolve the marriage back in February 2026.”
Why did Karine and Paul get a divorce?
For fans who have been following Karine and Paul for quite some time, this split is no surprise, as the couple had broken up and gotten back together multiple times since they said “I do” in 2017. Throughout their marriage, Karine and Paul each filed restraining orders against each other, and multiple altercations between the duo were reported. Seven years ago, Karine told 90 Day viewers that she wanted a divorce from Paul, as seen in the clip below.
Do Karine and Paul have children?
Yes, Karine and Paul have two sons together, Pierre and Ethan. In July of 2022, it was reported that the 90 Day Fiancé stars lost custody of their sons, who were placed in foster care. At the time, Paul told Newsweek, “The children were taken because we had a lot of verbal altercations, which in Kentucky they take very seriously.” He added, “Because we’re public figures, everything was blown out of proportion.”
Today, Karine also has a baby daughter who is from a different relationship.

It’s unclear whether or not Karine or Paul has custody of their sons today. On March 15, 2025, Karine started a GoFundMe titled, “Help Reunite a Loving Parent with Their Children.” There, she revealed that their sons are in the custody of Paul’s cousin.
“While fighting to regain custody of my kids, Paul’s cousin, who I have always offered everything I could to help my children, declined because she owns a very large interstate construction company and told me she didn’t need it,” Karine explained. “Now she has demanded child support, which is over 50% of my income.”
