What To Know

  • Season 1 of Prime Video’s Every Year After will primarily focus on the love story between Percy and Sam.
  • Michael Bradway, who plays Charlie Florek, revealed to Swooon whether any of One Golden Summer will be adapted in Season 1.
  • One Golden Summer sees Charlie’s love story with Alice Everly.

Alice may not have “anticipated” Charlie Florek, but Every Year After fans are anticipating her!

For some, Charlie Florek is the epitome of romance novel boyfriends. Now, we finally know whether any of his One Golden Summer love story will spill into the first season of Every Year After. During an exclusive interview with Swooon at Creation Entertainment’s Page, Screen, and Everything in Between event, Michael Bradway, who plays Charlie in the upcoming adaptation, addressed the question we’ve all been wondering.

Based on Carley Fortune’s Every Summer After, Season 1 of Prime Video’s Every Year After is set to follow the love story between Percy Fraser (Sadie Soverall) and Sam Florek (Matt Cornett), told between six summers during their childhood and one week in the present. In One Golden Summer (Spoiler alert!), Charlie finds his own romance with a photographer named Alice Everly.

While Alice does not appear in Every Summer After, she crosses paths with Charlie for the first time (from a distance, at least) when he is just 19. Could this mean that she will appear in the Season 1 flashbacks? According to Bradway, there are a few One Golden Summer Easter eggs sprinkled in there.

Bradway explained, “You know, there’s a couple of things that we put into the show, the first season, that are kind of little One Golden Summer easter eggs and teasers.” Readers, get your detective hats on!

That said, Bradway couldn’t spill much ahead of the premiere, “I can’t really say anything,” he shared, “but what I will say is that the first season of our show is predominantly Every Summer After.”

Looks like we’ll have to wait until a potential Season 2 to dive fully into Charlie and Alice’s love story, but that doesn’t mean Season 1 will be void of swoonworthy Charlie content. Check out Swooon‘s full interview with Michael Bradway and Matt Cornett to find out how they found their brotherly bond off camera and which Every Summer After scenes they were most excited to see come to life!
