Kate Mansi is starting a new chapter. The General Hospital star, who’s played Kristina Corinthos since 2023, stepped away from the role on June 12 as Kristina left for medical school.
The actress recently opened up to our partner site, TV Insider, about leaving the soap and revealed what she and her husband, Matt McInnis, are doing next. Turns out, Mansi is headed across the pond to support her husband.
McInnis is a producer who is working on the upcoming Tomb Raider series for Prime Video, which features Game of Thrones alum Sophie Turner in the titular role. The show is currently filming its first season in Europe. When Mansi’s contract was up in April, she decided not to sign a new deal so she could be closer to her husband while he’s working abroad.
“I’m generally not someone who’s very good at winging it and being spontaneous in my life,” she told TV Insider. “But given that my husband is working in Europe predominantly and I’ll be traveling so much, that’s what this next chapter of my life will be.”
Mansi also revealed that she’s “booked a short-term project in the fall that works within my schedule,” but she hasn’t shared details just yet.
Mansi and McInnis just celebrated their first wedding anniversary. They got married on May 31, 2025, in a surprise wedding ceremony. The couple kept their plans a secret and told their guests it was just an engagement party. They had gotten engaged on July 3, 2024, during a cabin trip.
“I’ve never met a braver human being than Katie,” McInnis previously told People. “She inspires me. She makes everyone around her better by nurturing qualities in them which even they may not see at first. Her ability to love with her whole heart and wide eyes is the greatest gift a person could ever receive.”
