‘In the City’: Who Is Kenny Martin’s Dad? Everything We Know About His Parents
Bravo fans are getting to know Kenny Martin on the new Summer House spinoff In the City, and he’s about to share even more of his story. So far, Kenny’s storyline has been about his relationship with Whitney Fransway, who moved across the country to live with him in New York after less than a year of dating.
However, the June 16 episode will dive into Kenny’s family life. He has been open about the death of his mother and how much that affected him, but now, we’ll learn more about Kenny’s relationship with his father.

Who is Kenny Martin’s dad?
We’ll have to wait until the full episode airs to learn more about Kenny’s dad, but from the preview, we know that his name is Larry Martin.
The private investigator also told Kenny that his search was narrowed down to “England, as well as the United States.”
Kenny was unsure from the phone call whether his dad was alive, with Whitney added, “It’s unclear, but it sounds like if he hasn’t found him, specifically, he probably doesn’t know [if he’s alive].”
Who was Kenny Martin’s mom?
Kenny’s mom was Sandra Brainerd. She lived in Otsego, Michigan, at the time of her death, but previously resided in Plainwell, Michigan, which is where Kenny grew up.
Per her obituary, Sandra spent most of her career at Speciality Minerals. She was “known for her tenacity and strong work ethic.” After retiring, she helped her son “manage their local properties.” (This is likely referring to Kenny’s brother, as Kenny had been in New York for several years at the time of his mother’s death.)
“Sandra was a woman of faith, devoted to her relationship with God and her community at Otsego Church of God,” her obit says. “Her unwavering belief was a guiding light in her life and an inspiration to those around her.”
How did Kenny Martin’s mom die?
Sandra died on January 10, 2025, from cancer. She was diagnosed just six months before her death, Kenny revealed in an Instagram post.

“Six months ago we were chatting on the porch after dinner, and a week later we found out she had terminal cancer and wouldn’t walk or even be able to come home again,” he wrote. “These last several months she has been surrounded by the best comfort care in the world, therapy puppies, prayer, music therapy, family, and all the love possible.”
Sandra was 64 years old at the time of her death. She was “surrounded by her family” when she died, according to her obituary.
Does Kenny Martin have siblings?
Yes, Kenny has at least two siblings. His mother’s obituary confirmed she had another son named Charles Parker, who is married to wife Sara Parker. They have two children, Charles and Brendan.
In his phone call with the private investigator, it was revealed that Kenny also has a half-brother through his father. That half-brother has at least one son, as the PI told Kenny, “I did locate your half-brother’s son, who did have some information about your dad.”
