Christel Khalil has been a part of The Young and the Restless soap family for over two decades as Lily Winters. Since her debut in 2002, when she was 14 years old, she has experienced some incredible life changes, including starting a family.

Khalil keeps her family life mostly out of the public eye, but she made rare comments about her kids on the latest episode of the Soapy podcast. The actress welcomed a son, Caden, in 2010 while married to her first husband, but she’s since welcomed two more children with her second husband, Sam Restagno.

When her second child, Remy, was born in 2024, Khalil admitted that her oldest son was “very jealous” because he’d been an only child for 13 years. “He’s also very in touch with his feelings, I will say,” she added. “That’s one thing about him that’s really amazing. As a teenage boy, he’s very self-aware when it comes to how he feels, and so we had so many conversations.”

Khalil gave birth to her third child in February 2026, and she kept her pregnancy a secret. Now, Caden has two younger siblings. “And now he’s understanding, like, oh wow, when I grow up I have siblings, and I’m going to have people there with me because he always hated being an only child,” Khalil said.

The actress shares Caden with her first husband, Stephen Hensley. She married Restagno in 2024 and had a gorgeous wedding in Puglia, Italy.

Soapy cohost Rebecca Budig asked Khalil, who’s been acting since she was a child, whether she’d want her kids to pursue acting as a career. “Would I encourage them? No. If they were like, ‘Oh, I really want to do this,’ I’d be like, ‘OK, here’s the reality, and here’s what you’ve got to do.’ But no, I wouldn’t encourage anyone. It’s crazy,” she admitted.
