Who Is Brooke Shields’ Husband? Her Marriage, Family & Relationship History
Next Gen NYC introduced two new cast members for its second season, with one of those being Rowan Henchy, whose mom is none other than Brooke Shields. The actress shares Rowan with her second husband, Chris Henchy, whom she married in 2001.
Earlier this year, Brooke and Chris celebrated a major milestone: their 25th wedding anniversary. Fans will be getting a deeper look into their eldest daughter’s life on the Bravo show now that she’s made her debut.

What does Brooke Shields’ husband do for a living?
Chris Henchy is a producer, director, and screenwriter. His producing and writing credits include Spin City, Life With Bonnie, Entourage, The Other Guys, and many more.
Chris also has some acting credits, including small roles in Step Brothers and Daddy’s Home.
How did Brooke Shields meet her husband?
Brooke and Chris met in 1999, and she said in her 2005 memoir that she believes she “fell in love” with him the day they first crossed paths.
“I had just gotten an American bulldog, Darla, and I brought her to meet friends of mine in the gym on the Warner Bros. lot,” Brooke wrote. “While there, the dog wandered off, and Chris brought her back. He was writing for a show filmed on the lot and loved dogs. We chatted, and he made me laugh.”
Just three weeks later, they were both in Washington D.C. (she was hosting a show that he was working as the writer for) and ran into each other again. They “became friends” as they started spending time together, Brooke explained.
However, she was newly single after divorcing her first husband, Andre Agassi, so she wasn’t ready to rush into a new romance just yet. Eventually, though, “[I] had to admit that there was something between us that I could no longer ignore, and we started dating.”
Chris popped the question in 2000, and the two tied the knot the following year. They had a small ceremony in April 2001, followed by a larger one that May.
How many children does Brooke Shields have?
Brooke and Chris share two children. In addition to Rowan, born in 2003, they have another daughter, Grier, born in 2006.

Rowan graduated from Wake Forest University in 2025, and Grier followed in her footsteps and is currently a student there.
Is Brooke Shields still friends with Andre Agassi?
Prior to her relationship with Chris, Brooke was married to tennis star Andre Agassi from 1997 to 1999. They are no longer friends today, and Brooke has been open about the bad parts of their relationship.

She previously cited one instance where Andre exploded after she guest-starred on an episode of Friends and licked Matt LeBlanc‘s hand for a scene. “He said I made him look like a fool by licking Joey’s fingers and he got in his car and drove all the way to Vegas,” Brooke wrote in her 2014 memoir. “Once there, he smashed all of his tennis trophies, destroying them in a rage.”
In her 2025 book, Brooke revealed Andre’s alleged response when she would ask him, “Will you still love me if I’m big and fat?” His alleged answer: “I love you too much to let you get big and fat.” She also admitted she was “glad” she didn’t have a child with the athlete.
“I have always wished nothing but the best for her,” Andre told Us Weekly after the book release. “I guess maybe one of the reasons why I don’t know much about it is because I don’t want to be in a position to necessarily comment on it one way or another, except rooting for her. I mean, at the end of the day, love wins, and I try to love everyone.”
