‘Deadliest Catch’: Does Sophia ‘Bob’ Nielsen Have a Boyfriend?
Sophia “Bob” Nielsen is back on Season 22 of Deadliest Catch. This time, she’s working on the F/V Northwestern with Sig Hansen.
In 2023, Sophia joined the Discovery Channel series as captain of the F/V Saga (where she worked with Jake Anderson and Sean Dwyer) and F/V Victory. In Season 20, she worked with Greg Wallace on the F/V Seabrooke, and in Season 21, she captained the F/V Aleutian Lady with Rick Shelford.
Sophia was just 23 years old when she joined the show, making her one of the youngest captains in the fleet. Now 27, she’s continuing to pursue crab fishing in the rough waters near Alaska.

Sophia’s boyfriend is Bobo Floyd. Like his girlfriend, he is from Kodiak, Alaska. Bobo has a public Instagram page where he mostly documents his time spent outdoors.
How long has Sophia ‘Bob’ Nielsen been dating her boyfriend?
Sophia and Bobo have been together for more than five years. They started dating in 2020 and celebrated their five-year anniversary in April 2025.

“Happy 5-year anniversary, @____bobo____ !” Sophia wrote on Instagram at the time. “We’ve had our share of ups and downs, but there’s truly no one else I’d rather grow through life with. Thank you for exploring the world by my side, for the endless laughs, the tough moments, and everything in between. Thank you for always showing up, for having my back, and for doing your best—every single day.”
She continued, “Honestly, I didn’t think we’d make it this far (still kinda shocked), but here we are—stronger, wiser, and even more in sync. I think it’s safe to say we’ve made it over the hump, and I’m so proud of us.”
Sophia concluded her message by adding, “Here’s to everything we’ve been through and everything that’s still ahead.”
